Up to you. Depends how much you have in there, F isn't going anywhere but US auto isn't as hot as it used to be, if you want out, more power to you - cut and run when the going gets good. Hold until you're green and then adios!

    Yeah they're back red.

I have about $3,500 in there, which is worth about half that now. I can leave it however long is needed.

I plan to clean my portfolio up a bit when this thing is over. I want to get more concentrated (right now 34 holdings, I think I want to stay under 30 going forward). I want to get solely into great companies that won't screw around with their dividend (AAPL, KO, PEP, PG, JNJ, ABBV, WMT, TGT, T, VZ, CVX, XOM, GIS, CAT, TROW, O, MMM, etc.) I need to get out of some of the mREITS, speculative eREITS, BDCs, etc. The dividends sure were nice with those, but it doesn't do much good when you get caught bag holding with dividend cuts or freezes.

Okay dumb question. I have shares at Robinhood, and want to move them to TD Ameritrade. I put in the transfer request, they said they couldn't do it. It's only 5 shares of FUN. At this point, can I sell off at Robinhood and just buy at TD Ameritrade? Is there any rule against that? Even if I end up losing a few cents, not the end of the world.

Hmm good point. I'll give TD a buzz and see why the transfer was rejected. Doesn't make much sense to me why they didn't. Thanks!

I might keep the robinhood account for self directing ETF/IF trades rather than paying betterment to do it for me though, so it's not the end of the world to have one stock in there :p

You can probably do the sell, and rebuy thing. You just won't be able to write any losses off on taxes.

Yea, if it’s only a few shares this shouldn’t really matter much. I’d sell or hold it in your robinhood until you can get a little profit

Ah good point....Okidoki. Planning to hold these for a while, maybe buy more, so I'll probably buy into it on my TD for future shares and sell once robinhood is green so I can have some better organization of my financial mumbo jumbo.

Depending on how far down you are on FUN, the loss writeoff might not even be worth worrying about. Figure at best it'd offset the taxes on the same amount of gain at your marginal income tax rate.

Say your marginal rate is 22% fed and you state income tax rate is 6% -- you're talking about $28 worth of tax avoidance per $100 of loss.

Even less if you've held for a year+ and are talking about LT capital gains vs short term.

I have been wanting to put struts on the hood, so much easier and you know it won't fall on your head.

What kind did you get? My ARB bumper sticks out so far it’s hard to push it up all the way, thinking about getting some
