So my truck is the black sand pearl and I wanted to update my grille to the new 2011 TRD sport color keyed grille. Well i was wrong, the 2011 truck is a completely different shade of black and the color keyed definately will not match. Thought I would pass the word on.

Color matched grill w/ grillcraft. BHLM and Morimoto Mini HID's Debadged.
Yes, I talked to Dave at TnC (per Linwood's post) trying to get the 2011 grille on my 2010 black sand pearl. And yes, it's a different Black. Black Sand Pearl (code: 209) has been replace by Black (code:202) Yep, just plain black.

Black Sand Pearl sounds nice, romantic and cool.

Black just sounds dark, like my soul. Hmmm, maybe I should consider repainting? :)

How hard would it be to paint over it....would it be easier to get white and then paint it, or the different color black and match it to my color

Stick with your old grille and use the money that you would have spent on a new, pointless grille on something like a lightbar, toolbox, pop'n'lock, seat covers, floor mats, or countless other things that would be beyond cosmetic benefit. Just my $.02

Assuming that the new style is assembled the same way as the old one, and has the same specs, you should be able to remove the painted facing, and swap in onto the new style back piece.

Not really bad news, as it means less of those ugly-as-sin '11 grilles on the road.

Now if only they'd kill the hood scoop...

    Yes.
The above is correct, Toyota went back to Black (202) for 2011 so it won't be a match to BSP.
