With all of this time on our hands from quarantines, self isolation, voluntary hermitage seclusion, and over-exposure to a small and loved but increasingly annoying group of people (my family), I’ve resorted to those dusty volumes that give my shelves purpose.

Using the search function for “books” turned up threads from 2012, but I figure a GLOBAL PANDEMIC justified a fresh thread.

What have you read, or what’s on your list to read? I tend to use screen-shots of covers to remind me of recommendations, and a quick summary/description to help members gauge their interest. I’m looking forward to feedback, you’re all an interesting and entertaining bunch!!

Two books about living in post-apocalyptic America. Wonderfully entertaining and in both cases hit a little close to home.

I’m not a big reader. But my favorite book is probably The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss. It’s supposed to be a trilogy, but I don’t think the 3rd one has been finished.

Travel and adventure about a race from Tiera Del Fuego to Prudhoe Bay...two guys in one, ahem, truck (Chevy) against the clock. At one point, near Panama, they load it onto a ship to avoid a particularly dangerous area and cross paths with this book...

another non-fiction travel book about the Merchant Marines which takes on the team from Road Fever for a hop around the war-zone. I read these books back to back without realizing the connection. Blew my mind...

Oh. I missed that bit. One of my friends and I keep a rule that we don't try to sell each other on books since we both like to go in blind. So we just give a name and and author and leave it at that.

But. I will say what kind of stuff I like, and maybe if you like that kind of stuff too, then my list will make more sense. Space, technology, the occult, the occult + technology, and people that build stuff.

It's not for everyone... its during a troubling racist time. Wasn't a easy read, but got the point across.

Not sure about your tastes are but my recommendations are:

    Post Apocalyptic Genre
Going Home Series by Angery American
New World Series by G Michael Hopf
    The Remaining Series DJ Molles

    Anything by Clive Cussler
    (partial to Oregon series myself)
