Different sized tires (within reason) on an open dif is ok to get you home or to the tire shop.

If staying stock size then I wouldn't bother with a matching spare but that's me.

The falken is a great tire. Had a couple sets on a couple different vehicles and it was great in everything but the really sloppy stuff (typical AT)

As i said, in an emergency. I wouldn't make it a habit though lest you want some premature wear on gears

With an open dif every time you turn your tires are spinning at different speeds, this is the same as if your tires are slightly different in size.

Yes, but I don't want my truck to think it's turning while I'm traveling long distances down the highway. Not saying you're gonna do damage, but why do it if you don't have to

You aren't wrong, same size is better. But I also don't think slight differences in size will hurt things.

Agreed. Just wouldn't do it unless I had to, as you mentioned

If you plan on lifting, which it sounds like you do, I would just go to a 265/75/16. Price is similar. Selection is better. A hair more ground clearance. Little to no mpg penalty. Looks meaty on a stock truck. My speedometer is still correct. And once you lift it looks appropriate.

Good points, but how can the speedometer still be correct? Shouldn't it be like 3% off? Unless of course that's within the error margin to begin - which it probably is.

It's 660 for the bolt on. The weld on requires a lot more work. The legs are not welded to the main slider so you can cut the length down if you want and adjust what angle you want them to be. Also, a lot less material since you don't need a plate supporting the sliders. But if you or your friends are handy, way to save a lot of money for basically custom sliders.

660 with the sale, but it says 780 retail. I guess I was just picturing you line it up, do 3 welds per side and your sliders are good to go. I guess with all the added work it makes some sense but still that's a huge difference.

I might have to take up welding...
