Mouse tails and dough power bait. They like white and pink on mouse tails and chartreuse on dough. Size 18 on the treble hook for dough and size 10 or 12 on a single hook for the mouse tail.
Could also do a half a nightcrawler injected with air. On a 14 to 18 in leader of no more than 4lb test.

 

Oh yeah, wouldn't want to work on one, but they know how to make a torquey engine. Wish I had an sls, even if it meant new tires every other week. No ragrets. My dream car growing up was the CLK GTR

Night whatever’s

 

I get bored with bait fishing. When I was in San Diego (stocked lakes) we had good luck with tube jigs too. Caught this guy on a dark green mini tube.

 

I’ve been using 6.5- 7.0ft rods for ever “ med heavy “ Very versatile for working a plastic worm, to flounder jig , running flat bill crank baits/ chatter baits, spinners/ buzz . You can do a lot with em with out having 10 different rods

 

I Flounder fished like that forever -Carolina rig , egg weight , plastic bead, swivel and a wire leader for mud minnows

 

I do like a stiffer rod though
