Played a couple matches with @Pchop tonight / this morning / whatever.... Don't even know what day it is or what time of day it is anymore.

This is why it's so much fun to play the Hunter in Crucible to me. Just fucking around and being able to jump off the map and then pop back up on it is priceless. Ended up getting a Shaxxgasim at the end of the match lol. He wouldn't shut up.

By far one of my least favorite maps. I spend 95% of my time staring at the radar and only look at the field of view when there is an enemy close. Radar was red all around me the entire time. Can't believe we ended up winning this one.

You're really that quiet most of the time. I didn't say much at all that match since I didn't think there was any way we were going to come back and win that. I was just pretty much stuck in the middle of the map the entire time with red on the radar.

Don't worry about your score. I'll have matches like that one match, and then pop off the next. Sometimes there really isn't anything you can do about it and it just happens. I record most of my matches to go back and watch later to see what I could have done better. At 4:07 I should have commited with the Shotgun and rushed the dude using Sweet Business but I choked and thought he was out of range. Looking back at it in the video, I would have easily beat him. But I didn't push it, backed off with the primary, and paid the price.

The way the matches go in 6v6 is you either fire in from the outside of the map or you fire out from the inside of the map. But you don't want to get stuck in a position you can't get out of in "no man's land" where you can be shot from the outside or the inside of the map at the same time. I ended up being cornered in between B & C or stuck inside the cave last night. So I spent most of my time just staring at the radar trying to figure out where the next easiest target would be. Most of the time when I'm moving up and back is just to bait a push from someone on the other team when I know I have a good position or... to try to get out of a bad position.

That play at 7:30 that you pointed out... That was just against a less skilled player. A good player would have eaten me alive. He had me dead to rights and fucked that play up. I did the exact same play at 9:25. I'm actually more impressed with the play at 5:35. Even though I ended up dying, I was at least able to take one of them with me by throwing a smoke down where he couldn't see while being shot at by three different opponents.

 

We did just go in to shoot mother f'ers. We knew we weren't really playing for the team going in and since I was going to bed anyhow after that I was just wanting to shoot guys. Gotta say, compared to last year when you couldnt get me to set foot in crucible compared to now where I play at least 3 or 4 games every time I get on, I think I have the PvP bug.

 

Well... You know I do. Considering there really isn't that much to do in the game at the moment, PvP is a decent distraction (even if the Auto Rifle meta sucks).

I actually had 4 control point captures which surprised even me. But the dude right above you had 10 lol. I honestly think he is the reason that we won. If it weren't for all the captures, I wouldn't have had 14 advantage kills. So... at least he played the objective. Got to give him some credit. I just kind of accidentally played the objective.

 

Since there are really no good Auto Rifles that go in the primary slot for Crucible, I decided to grind for the Ether Doctor. It won't out preform the Hard Light or Suros but it doesn't take up an exotic slot so I can use my Beloved Sniper if I get a good roll on one. I've got a pretty decent roll so far that I'm pretty happy with. I'll just have to mess around with it and see how it preforms. I definitely wouldn't take this into Trials but it might be okay for Control. Played a couple games last night and just stood on the outside of Burnout with the Revoker. Almost all my kills were Sniper kills. I ended up having 10 rounds of special before I finally got killed.

So I was bored last night and decided to go in and play IB for a while to work on the bounties for the powerful engrams. I have zero desire to finish the quest for the bow which I will never use.

Bungie has GOT to do something about dropping you into a match already in progress. There is a safeguard in place that if you get dropped into a match that is already in place that you won't lose a streak but it's still no fun. Was pretty happy with my performance during the first match and we ended up winning it. The main issue is, everyone that is in that match will get their super long before you do and most likely have two supers during the entire match depending on when you drop in. You "might" get one super since you will be so far behind. I would venture a guess that at minimum, I'm dropped into a match in progress at least half the time and it's getting old.

Since there isn't anything to do on the PvE side of things this season it's been PvP for me only this season. I could give a shit about leveling up the bunkers and I'm not alone on this. It's boring and monotonous and the weapons you get out of it aren't anything special. I'm finding it very hard to log in right now other than to play PvP. And then it's usually on the weekend when Trials is active. Trials has its own set of issues with the loot system and the way the token system is set up. But the gameplay in Trials is a lot of fun. Now if they would just bring back OG Trials like everyone has been asking for instead of making changes that no one wants, it would be perfect.

Here's what I'm talking about being dropped into a game already in progress. This happens more often than not. When you get dropped into a game already in progress it's hard to get a rhythm going. But I ended up with a 3.5 K/D so I can't complain. At least the second game was a full game although we beat the shit out of them and mercy'd them quickly. At least I got some pretty crispy snipes off and ended up with a 9.0 K/D.

It sucks doesn't it? I can semi understand it happening in a quickplay match every once in a while. But when it happens in IB it really sucks. It would be one thing if it happened every now and then, but it happens in at least 50% of my matches. That's bad enough. But what really gets on my nerves is when you load into a match and you only have 4 others on your team and you're going against 6 on the other team. Sure it might backfill during the game but you are at a severe disadvantage during that time. And by the time it backfills you most likely don't have map control. In IB when control is the objective, It just makes it that much harder for map control because of the lack of people on your team.

The main issue I have with that is, it seems like I'm always on the team with the shortage of people. I seriously think SBMM is behind this. If SBMM can't find others that are around your skill then it just goes ahead and launches the game. Granted... My skill rank would be hard to find many that are in the same skill bracket. I've reset my Valor Rank 11 times this season by proxy because of Trials. But just fill it with other players. I don't give a shit what their skill is since it at least gives you a fighting chance. That is one reason I posted that video above just to point out that I get dropped into games that are already in progress all the time. It sucks.

 

Speaking of Trials... I finally finished up the Flawless Title last night. I would argue that the Flawless Title is probably the hardest title to get in the game with Unbroken being the second hardest. Unbroken requires you to hit 5500 rank in Comp in three separate seasons. I'm well over half way to hitting 5500 this season. The road to 5500 doesn't really get hard until you get close to 5000 and then it gets really sweaty from that point on. Trials is sweaty from the first match of the card to the last because so much is at stake. Then you add in the objectives you have to complete just to get the title of Flawless and it just makes it that much harder.

1: You have to assist someone that hasn't been to the Lighthouse after you have already been there. Basically a carry



2: And this is probably the hardest part. You have to win matches with a completed card after you have already gone to the Lighthouse. There is no incentive to do this other than you have to complete this if you want the Title. Luckily you don't have to complete 10 wins right after you go to the Lighthouse. It is a cumulative of 10 wins each time you go to the Lighthouse. So you can win 1 match or 5 match's etc... It keeps score of how many matches you've completed after going to the Lighthouse. This part took the longest because who wants to play more matches (for no rewards) after winning 7 matches in the sweatiest game mode there is?



3: This is probably the second hardest since you can only pick up the Passage of Confidence after you have gone Flawless on the same character during the same weekend. The only thing it gives you is bonus rewards from the final chest at the Lighthouse. But you can not pick this up until you go Flawless at least once during the same weekend and you have to be using the same character. Most people (myself included) pick up the Passage of Mercy (especially if running a carry) as it allows one loss to be forgiven. But with the Passage of Confidence you can not lose one match during the entire card. The only thing I got this weekend was an extra Ascendant Shard, 3 Enhancement Prisms, and two more Trials Gauntlets (both of which are worse than the ones I already have).

Trials has a lot of problems right now. PC players have it the worst with the rampant cheating that is going on over on that platform. I feel very bad for those that have to play on PC because it is almost unplayable due to the amount of cheat codes out there.

But cheating aside... Trials just has a fundamental problem because of the way that loot is given out. Other than the Shotgun and the Auto Rifle (depending on the rolls), there is nothing that stands out. The Scout Rifle sucks and there is no use for it anywhere. Not in PvP and especially not in PvE. If you want to torture yourself, use it in PvP and you'll want to punch yourself in the dick. It would be less painful. If they ever adjust the Hard Light and Suros then the Summoner (Auto Rifle) might be a good alternative. I've got a couple of god rolls sitting in my vault but until they adjust those weapons, that is where they will sit. The Astral Horizon Shotgun is the only Trials standout weapon as it is probably the best Shotgun in the game right now. I've got a god roll with Slideshot and Rifled Barrel and another with Auto Loading Holster and Full Choke so either of those will outperform most any Shotgun out there. I still can not get a good roll on the Sniper with Snapshot. And my loot pool is so diluted that I doubt I ever will. The only reason I wan't one is because it reminds me of the Beloved but the only issue is the Zoom magnification is stronger than the Beloved so it's not quite as good. Besides... as long as we are in this Auto Rifle meta on Console? I'll never take off the Revoker unless it is a short range map.

 

Oh... and I want the fucking Sparrow that drops from Trials. The Ghost and Sparrow are extremely rare drops. I've gotten the Ghost but so far, the Sparrow eludes me.

So @Pchop and I played Iron Banner tonight. I just needed to finish two more bounties and it only took 4 games for me to finish them. Sniping was on point tonight even though I had taken two muscle relaxers due to cutting down one of my trees that was damaged during the tornado last weekend.

Per @Pchop's request.

He and I played some Comp last night and he kept on leaving me hanging as the last Guardian standing multiple times. So it was always a 3v1 situation. Won 2 out of the 3 in that situation so that's saying something. Went into Control so I could finish a bounty and went on a 24 kill spree. Never died once. Ended up getting the "We Ran out of Medals" trophy which you get for a 20 kill streak and that's a rare trophy.

Yeah, that was a pretty good game.

After we got off my daughter and I went around driving for a while so she could get out and just drive wherever she wanted. Came back and logged back in (which in hindsight I shouldn't have done because I was tired). I did EXACTLY what I've told you not to do and loaded solo into a Survival game instead of Freelance and went against a full stack. Got.... my... ass... handed... to.... me.... I mean I got my ass beat like a motherfucker. I had one fucking kill. It was like playing Trials going in as a solo player lol. I've got no one to blame but myself as they stomped the living shit out of us. As soon as I died the first time and saw I was running against a full stack I knew my horrible mistake. So I just took the beating and logged off with my tail between my legs lol. Sometimes you're the champ and sometimes you're the chump.
