So am I thinking correctly? Basically what I’m gathering here is that it’s now going to be basically impossible to do a re sale if you sell your truck on the older OBD 2 dongle set ups unless you spend even more to get the vf and only get a quarter of what you spent back because of how much they charge for registration...

 

Did you purchase this thinking it was an investment? If so.... Why?

 

No not an investment. But typically on other tuners I’ve purchased your able to recoup some funds and help others get into a tuner. Sad that this one they make it impossible to do.

 

The orange OBD interface is not the dongle. The "Dongle" is a small USB device that plugs into your computer.

 

No it’s not. There’s a picture on the previous page.. unless you purchased 2+ years ago, you don’t have a dongle

 

No that is your Traxis Adapter to connect your laptop to the ECU. The Dongle was a little USB device that @OVTune originally provided as a security measure. This was replaced later by a registration key.

I assume that should be May 1 and not March 1.

 

You can purchase vf for $79 (discounted from $400) and tune all the trucks you want once you unlock the ecu. Additional ecus cost extra, as they do with any other tuning software.

 

I considered a padded envelope but didnt want to go to the PO either so used a regular envelope, taped the lil black thing to a paper with my info written on it. Hope it works out ok...fingers crossed. should be ok.

Hi Mat,

Anything for us handheld owners? I kind of feel stupid for ordering the HH instead of the standard flash kit, I'd love to have a cable instead as it don't think it will be well supported.

 

For folks who have the OFT based HH you will get a version of vF Tuner with it that works with the handheld
