LIFT GURU's....HELP PLEASE>>>

So I've been doing lift kit searches for the last 3 weeks and I have no idea on what to get. I wheel little to none at all and I mainly drive my taco on the weekends. What I'm looking at is getting a 3" lift. I would like to clear 33's, but 32's and 31's are my first choice. I do haul my duck boat around a lot during duck season other than that its pretty much for looks. I would like to spend about 500. Thanks

X2, OME and some new UCA's FTW. My tacoma is also my DD and I havent noticed a major drop in gas mileage even with my ARB bumper and winch on.

 

...then IMO, OME is not what you are looking for necessarily. If it's just for looks, then throw some spacers in the front and AAL in the rear. No point in spending money for nicer parts if they won't be used wheeling

 

If your budget is $500ish and this is just for looks, OME for sure.

No one should ever buy spacers. For anything. Ever. I just cannot see a situation where they're a good call unless you MUST HAVE THE LIFT RIGHT NOW and are broke as shit.

 

Front OME cost me like 430 for the parts...what about lifting the rear of his truck?

 

AAL are about 80 bucks. Rear OME are pretty inexpensive as well.

 

Thanks for the response guys keep them coming. Maybe I should save up and wait to get the toytec Ultimate lift or run the 5100's all the way around.

 

if your leafs are flat, you're going to want to get new springs.

right there you're at your $500.

 

IMO a budget of $500 to lift your truck is very unrealistic. I cannot recommend any of the cheap spacer lifts either.

If your rear springs are in good shape (questionable on an '03), billies all the way around with an AAL in the rear will be the cheapest. Even then, by the time all is said and done, it'll cost you more than $500.

 

x2 on getting the 33's to fit. They'll fit but need a bit of trimming.

 

Well guys thanks for all the reply, but I think it will be best to wait for a little more cash on hand to get a better lift kit.

 

wait til you have around $2200 saved up, then go with a full OME kit from wheelers, AND do tires at the same time.

3in lift with stock tires looks retarded.

 

I have Eagle wheels on 32's sitting in the shed now. LOL I'm also considering 5100's on all 4 and AAL just to cure my urge for a bit while.

 

IMO lifting a prerunner is a waste of money!!!! But its yours

 

Which OME springs will give 3"? Just the 882s? I'd like 3" without the harsh ride of the 882s (i have no extra weight from a bumper or anything) Is there another OME option for 3" besides adding the spacer to 881s?

 

i'd just go with 5100's all around which will run u about 300 bucks for those and an AAL pack. Just set the front to 2.5" and u can still get ur alignment pretty good w/o new UCA's

 

Why doesnt ARB have spring heights and rates listed on their site? So many dealer sites have conflicting information about ome springs.
