People sue gun and ammo manufacturers all the time for murders, so there is that.

And a very very long string of fine print type sounding stuff on the website. Saw it all yesterday after doing the vF/dongle trade up

hopefully that is the case or I would hope the ecu would pull enough timing to prevent burning a hole in a piston from someone running a tune that is far to lean.

did you email your System ID to OVTune? They need that to get you going w p5f. I believe once you do that, they will email a registry file to apply then you should be good to tune again through the p5f method.

There's a world of difference between intended function, misuse, and gross negligence.

Pretty sure our ToS says you are liable for any change you make in the software.
Unless you are purposely making stupid changes, you should be fine.
That being said if you don't feel confident just ask for help.

FYI there are tuning softwares on the market that will sell to *anyone* even if they don't know how to put gas in their car they can still buy it.

yes, I have a friend who blew up his Subaru with one of those tuning software, and subsequently tried to blame that company for his mistake.

and likely failed in his pursuit.

    Remember, this software is optional.
and I wouldn't develop it in a way to purposely make people hurt their vehicles.

no clue what the end result was, haven’t spoken to him much lately.

I personally have no intention of buying vF, I don’t have the time to learn how tuning software works.

I’ll just wait for 2.0 to be released and will leave it at that

So a while back there was a bunch of talk about choosing tire size and gears with 2.0 tunes.

Is that all going to be with vF tuner now? Or is 2.0 still going to have gear and tire options?

My main interest in vF is the ability to trade/share tune files with other 04B30 owners. That way, if someone figures out a really great modification to v2.0 -- such as a magic tip-in setup -- then everyone with the same ECU can share and flash that version using vF.

That’s is great news! That vftuner video looks like a lot of learning! How do we sign up for the webinar for tacoma? Will it be a limited viewing webinar or fully uploaded at some point. Very curious but also hoping 2.0 is on point!!!
