Soooo pretty much my grinder is gonna shit the bed soon. It's making bad noises and Milwaukee most likely won't warranty it since it's been wet, and I took it apart to dry it out. Right now HD has a buy the bandsaw get the grinder also for $299 promotion. I'll split the cost with someone if they want the bandsaw. After tax it will be ~$329, so I'm willing to pay $110 for the grinder if someone's interested in the bandsaw for $220. Normal price on the deep cut bandsaw, tool only, is $329 + tax.

    Let's make a deal!

Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Deep Cut Band Saw with Free M18 FUEL 4-1/2 in./5 in. Grinder

I've already got the deep cut bandsaw otherwise I'd just keep it. Of course when I bought the bandsaw they were sold out of this promotion and now it's back in stock again. :annoyed::bananadead::frusty:

Did you actually need a notcher, or you have something else?

Well, it's here for ya. You can bring the tubes and use it here, or just take the notcher with ya. I've got both 1 1/2 and 1 3/4 holes saws too.

Dammit - I already have that saw too, but I want the angle grinder! [IMG]
    :annoyed:

If anyone picks up that portaband - I highly recommend making a table stand for it. SWAG Offroad sells them for $100+, or you can build one pretty easily.

That is a cool bit of kit! I was thinking a portaband isn't really needed for what I do, but traditional bandsaw might be handy. Seems to be the best of both worlds here from a flexibility perspective.

And then I saw their ammo can mounts too. Going to be one of those "damnit, TW costing me money" days....

Yeah... it didn't work for me either. First time I've ever had the morse taper tool holder come out of a drill press. Wound up using the link I posted a couple days back and my portaband saw to cut close, then flap disc'd to the lines. Time consuming, but faster than waiting for a tubing notcher to show up in the mail. Amazon's definition of "essential" doesn't necessarily jive with mine...

I miss going to the hardware store ):

On the plus side, after about five years I finally got my @1 Bored Clerk bolt on slider plates welded to my CBI clearance sale sliders. CBI's original design required lots of holes to be drilled. I had to extend the slider plates by about 2" to better meet the tubing coming off the tail end of the slider. Now I'm painting them and waiting on hardware and a Raptor Liner order to show up. I'll Raptor line the top to make them less slippery.

    CBI slider 2.jpg

Just realized the second picture was before I added the gusset to the last tube.

    Yay quarantine projects!

It truly is the best of both worlds. I have used the portaband MUCH more than I anticipated. Helps me to keep clean, straight cuts, safer and more-controlled than a cutoff wheel and the blades last quite a bit longer than cutoff wheels.

SWAG makes some really cool and innovative stuff; I've "borrowed" a few ideas from them. I really want to replicate their press-brake kit.

I slept in today. When I went out to the shop my boy was sweeping and organizing the benches. Eventually they come around. I think he’s trying to suck up so I’ll rebuild the top end in his Cr80.

Being responsible. I could go, but most of the guys there are older and I like 'em. These sliders have been in the garage for literally five years, I bought them before I bought the truck in '15. I'm on vacation til June, so another week or two of waiting isn't the end of the world.

I have the T-handle tool down in Renton if you want to borrow it. I took the advice here and used WD-40, raised up the truck, loosened the Allen key bolt (less than 1 full turn) and the tool worked beautifully! Using a drill bit sounds like a terrible idea.

I can also ship to you if you'd like..just ship it back. Gas/time would probably cost more than what USPS would.

I've heard that T-Handle tool plus a big punch tool of the right size is a good way to go

Yeah I need to build me one of them tables. I've been wanting to make one for the circular saw too, for use as a table saw.
