I've been looking at used ones with really low miles like 10k or less as well. The SR5 used is pretty cheap in some places. The off road is still around 30k or over used but it is the nicer one with the 4x4 and all that.

Everyone on here is saying to buy a Tacoma new though so I was looking more at the new ones.

I would do a sport or a sr5 if you don’t want the packages if you don’t plan to go off-road. As for new vs used I think it just depends on deals. If they are close go for it. The rims tires and grill are all very easy changes so don’t let that hold you back. The grill was maybe 20-30 min and that was a first time removal

Think that's a lot of money for a used SR5 with the XP package. You can probably get a good deal on new truck now plus better financing options.

That is true. I guess that's why this model gets hate because of the price compared to what else you can get.

If you're patient, I'm sure you will find what your looking for at a good price. If you're not going to do a lot of off-roading but want some of the features of the TRD model take a look at the TRD Sport. If I recall correctly, to get a 4WD is a like another $3500 (others may know better), so if you don't need it you use that to go up on the trim level.

    To the OP...

I suggest you search out another Toyota dealership. Those guys are out of their minds on their pricing!

The Sport has the exact same MSRP as the Off Road if configured the same so he would not be saving anything.

Actually no I was talking about those new ones you linked. “Toyota of North Charlotte”? All those are 2WD Tacos and they’re asking 4WD prices. Here’s my spec sheet for the truck I bought just a few weeks ago.

The dealers “no haggle price” on this truck (brand new) was $34,041

Yeah seems like a lot for the ones I'm finding then. A lot of the 4wd around here are over $40k. The ones at my dealer in my city are between 43k and 46k for an offroad.

Toyota of North Charlotte is the cheapest I've seen within a few hours for the same spec and color SR5 or Off Road that is new.

Should be room to negotiate then. There’s no legit reason that any one region of the continental U.S. should be THOUSANDS different in price than another region.

Seems like $30k OTD for the SR5 or the 2wd Off Road would be a decent price.

I offroad all the time with my SR5 so if you only off road occasionally I dont think you will ever need a diff locker

I personally would rather have a 4wd sr5 than a rwd off road

I have been doing easy to moderate off roading occasionally with my sr5. It seems to do fine. Any issues with yours?

The SR5 and the off road are both 2wd that I’m looking at. Anything 4wd seems to get more pricey.

Oh i didnt catch that. Not sure what the difference would be. Maybe the 2wd offroad comes with a locker but im not sure. That would be nice.

None at all, its been great. Only complaint is these street tires it came with, i want to slap some duratracs on this thing asap (but covid has got me laid off at the moment....)
