That whole phenomena is so odd. I don't like specialized either but I don't even know why

Specialized is pretty hard on the LBS, they require like 60% of the shop to be S Brand merch, etc.

Not dragging the company as a whole, all I said was that I am glad they swapped out the E13 tires and wheels on the new bikes, since I have had problems with both.

I think the complaints do not necessarily revolve around quality of their products but some unethical business practices such as copyright infringement.

I have a specialized branded shop down the street from my house. If anyone wants anything at the deal price, I can ship, unlike the shops

I guess when I read your first comment (garbage wheels) I was thinking problem with rims/hubs. Not sure a valve stem is really an indication of wheel quality. I mean the dude got them setup tubeless you'd think he would have figured out the valve at that point. All good though, not trying to argue they are good or anything. My only experience is the rims factory spec'd on my bike...nothing fancy but they've stayed true a couple seasons so fine I guess.

Yeah I just put a CCDBIL with a progressive spring on my smuggler a couple of weeks ago. I am loving it. Rear wheel feels planted when it needs to (chattery rough stuff) but the bike still has a lot of pop to it, which I was afraid I would lose going to coil. Cornering feels really good too. I am a fan so far.

I love that bike. It’s so very much on my shortlist for my next build. Putting a coil on would be pretty sporty.

Rumors going around that transition will be sidelining the smuggler and bringing out a “downcountry” offering. Others saying there’s a redesigned smuggler with different geo and more travel (changes like the scout received) coming out.

I’m not sure I’m happy about either outcome.

YT’s website was messed up for that new bike when it first dropped. The comp spec sheet showed all GX components and RS brakes (pro build), but it’s updated now to show NX.

They hit it out of the park with the re-design of the Scout. So I'm going to have faith in them, for now. I want one so bad. All this time at home has convinced me that I need a new bike, an oversized garage and a vacation to Tahiti with a new surfboard or two.:D

A downcountry bike I believe, but I’m guessing all of the frames will get a redesign to look like the new scout. All of their frames have looked similar in the past, and with the new scout, I’m sure the rest will follow in the coming years. The smuggler is pretty popular, I see them around pretty often, so I’m assuming it won’t be disappearing.
