Shut down for now (I hope) but I guess we will see post all this bs.

@PackCon You should visit, there's something for everyone, much like the US. If you like the outdoors, you stay on the west side of the country...city stuff Montreal and Toronto are pretty great (Vancouver is good too, but not on par with those two). And if you like people so friendly it's almost off-putting, then the east coast is your jam

Hmm there is some great stuff in Ontario and in BC (and probably elsewhere, but the greatest concentration of hipsters is in these two areas so they have the best beers)...careful tho, our beer has flavour and more than 4% abv. We can drink it because our beef makes us strong. lol.

And yes, flavour has a U.

    Be well:)

Do you have a play it again sports in your area? I’m helping @tacopaulo put together his own gym so I can take back my stuff now that I’m moving into my new house. We may have just hit the jackpot with the one here. They are due for a big delivery on Monday full of barbells, weights, and dumbbells. Snagged a couple 35lb bumpers and floor mats today that they had in stock to get things started. All good prices too. Only 1.50/lb on weight

Rogue Fitness is still in business (online sales only as the retail shop is closed) and shipping orders. I just placed an order for a new fat (2") pull up bar crossmember for my squat cage (finally got tired of the thin BS curved bar style it has) the other day and received my tracking info this morning. If you don't have a garage setup already, now is a perfect example (excuse?) as to why you should start one...if you have the room. I pieced my garage gym together over the years on CL and from FB marketplace, but right now used items are in high demand and low supply. You might get stuck with having to buy new, if you really want some gear.

If you don't have the room, but have a yard, take your truck and go get a massive tractor/industrial tire from a worksite/farmer/tire place/the desert/the woods and a 10# sledge from Home Depot. Flips, jumps, hits, drags, etc. Done. If you have a yard, this is an easy fix. Another option is a surplus duffle bag filled with 100# of wood pellets. You can do carries, throws, toss/chase, drags, farmer's carries, get ups, etc. If 100# is too much (or not enough), then use mesh laundry bags from Walmart ($1) and sort the wood pellets into 20# bags so you can scale. I found that a 100# seabag (duffle) and two 40-80# flight bags are perfect complements to a garage gym.

Note: Wood pellets are better than sand for lager body work bags than sand, as the pellets will fill more of the bag's capacity, whereas gravel or sand would obviously make weight but leave a lot of empty space in the bag. ...plus you can use the pellets for wood starter should you decide to go a different route...and they are cheap. like $5 per 20# cheap. Another option is a rice bucket (5 gal bucket filled with rice) for forearm work.

Another option is building some jump/step up boxes from 3/4" plywood. Perfect for box jumps, as when you make it you can construct it so that you get three different dimensions. You can also build a smaller one for step ups and box squats. Clean the sandbag and step up. drop it and clean it to the other shoulder.

If you doing have a yard or a garage, then these items (except for the tire...typically) can easily be loaded into your truck and taken to a nearby park for your workouts.

If you want to make this harder (mentally), toss on a surplus gas mask or a basic plate carrier. If you dont have plates/dont want to invest in training plates, buy some hollow airsoft plates (eww I know) and fill them with lead, cement, sand, etc. Toss it on and boom.

    Just some ideas.

My (discovered) drinks of choice last time were Caesar and red eye beer. Careful tho, I discovered if you come back to Virginia and ask for that at a bar, you'll get a confused look from the bartender and a disgusted look from your female companion. But damn it's good.

    Redeyes are for hangovers :D:D

I remember when I learned that Caesars weren't universally known around the world. I was forced to answer the question "how do you juice a clam then?":rofl::rofl::rofl:

Wellll I mean any beer used for hangovers is technically a red eye beero_O
Also "it's just a brand name and not actual clam juice" was a, um, source of contention.

Just googled and there is one here apparently. I checked their website and they have nothing I want.

Thanks for sharing the website. I also checked and all of the stuff I want are out of stock.

before the craft beer revolution of IIPA etc, the Canadian impression of American beer was that it was like making love in a canoe. Fucking pretty close to water. :boink:

I like all beer... But mostly drink Coors light for the reason it's the original hard seltzer
