2018 DCSB 4x4 TRD OR, 18k miles. Very good to excellent condition. A month ago my resale value as per KBB was around 30k.

What kind of damage are we expecting to our resale values once this virus finally fucks off?

God bless the frontline workers in these times. Thank you all very much.

Yeah investments are taking a nosedive. It’s looking like people who INVESTED in tacomas sure are in for a rude awakening.

others just simply drive them. But they aren’t maximizing the true potential of Tacoma ownership.

which is selling them or something.

I don't think the worse depreciation will be at the end of corona (whatever that end will look like...).

As people realize that we're not "coming out stronger" and the economy is not even close to "roaring back", depreciation will continue even after the lockdown is lifted (or eased).

I was ready to trade my Tacoma for a 4Runner... but it ain't happening anymore.

Who knows. You coughed in it. Has it been 14 days? But seriously, who fucking knows what's going to come. I'd imagine everything's "resale" value is fucked. Few Friday's ago we were launching our flaming Friday threads like fireworks on the 4th of July. Everything's changed now. But, I'm still working, driving, and loving the gas prices. So I bet there would be someone who would buy a used Tacoma. There is still lots of money here in the USA.

What are you saying, that buying and selling depreciating assets isn't a great way to make money? Crazy talk.

I'm just going off my understanding of supply and demand; with demand having gotten lower and supply way high - that tells me prices are going down.

Based on my recent purchasing habits, RockAuto is probably a great place to invest.

But would you trade for my no-problems-listed-but-don't-go-looking-too-closely 3rd gen?

Depends, does it come with a trailer that happens to have a rust-free 1st gen on it?

I didn’t buy mine as an investment. It will likely take a hit in resale, I read something about dealerships worried about the used market tanking in general due to supply glut from auction houses not being open. When they do that inventory (supply) will be larger than “normal”, even though new cars sales have dropped by a large magnitude for a variety of reasons..It will likely drop less relative to other cars, because it will still retain value because demand. Maybe they will be more in demand/valuable if they have a hard cap and mattress in the back to function as home/vehicle....Lotta people going to be hurt pretty bad financially and we will all be paying for the response to it in the future.

No, but I can list it as a 1st gen, cut a few inches off, and if you stand reeeaaallllyy far away, it may look like a really neglected 1st gen that someone tried to make into a 3rd

You probably missed your chance to get top dollar. Auctions have been closed for over a month and dealers are still buying and selling some. This means the auctions will be flooded once they open not to mention that every dealer in the country is going to try to reduce inventory with 30% of the country on unemployment, people won't be buying and no bank will lend to someone without income. I would think that you should plan on keeping your truck.
