well that’s a big number. I couldn’t tie that up waiting for oil demand to go up. You selling at 5 or waiting for 10?

 

Depends on chart and demand and politics. Total $ tied up does not seem so large to me. All relative.

 

All relative for sure. I only keep about 20 for short term holds. Everything else just holds. I already picked up 500 shares of MRO a couple weeks back at 3.5 or so. If it gets to 5 I’ll think about letting it go. Depends how I feel at the time

 

How many positions do y’all have? In my Roth IRA, I have 7 blue chips and 3 ETFs. In my fun investing account, I’m more aggressive and have 4 positions

 

Everything I have is in mutuals, both Roth and 401k.

 

30-40 at any given moment, 50+ I can't manage. Very few are funds. Maybe 8-9 funds.
My largest positions are BACPRB and METPRE, both up over 25%. PPL and O are decent sized, then some funds like FADMX and VBTIX. And the rest a WIDE variety from STOR to VZ, from T to GNMA. I'm still off my all time high, but not near what the averages are down.

My biggest loser is UNM. Just holding on for dear life

I have 34 now, all individual stocks. I want to get below 30 with higher quality. I have to wait for some things to recover before I’ll consider selling out of anything.

 

Not advising either way, but it really is too many unless you are over, say the ~$1.5-2.0Meg range. Many of those need to be fairly stable, others with stop loss orders, or some other quick cover/release method. ESPECIALLY these days, really need to be nimble. PLUS I hold TOO much cash, which holds me back on great days.

 

7 or so for fun. I let betterment do my Roth IRA. Also my investment account but I’m looking at learning to run that one myself instead soon.

 

I looked at doing betterment but I opened my first account when the market hit bottom and didnt think a computer would let me be as aggressive as I wanted to. But now I think I’ll just keep on doing it myself. I find it to be not as much work as I thought, especially once you get started, and researching companies and investing on my own has been really fun too!

 

What is the Meg range?

I randomly have an extra 1400 in my RH account. I checked the back log of activities and can not find any reason I should have this in my account. Is it safe to use it, after say a couple days?

my Ira is staying with betterment. I have a 401k through work and my own Ira. I will let myself have “fun” with stocks, I might try to self direct into etfs for general investing.

 

Better send me half to be extra safe.

RH can be a pain in some ways coming and going are not hidden? When was your last settlement? Somebody accidentally using your account.........that amount sounds like stimulus money. Yours or from wrong number?? It has happened.
