Gave it serious thought, I’ll go ahead and just remove. They’re actually held in by the very clips I need for other locations so that works out great.

I think as long as you have ~11” below the hood latch this will fit. I still have to fit the 90s so I’m not 100% on the width.

I am good i have 14"s from bottom of hood latch to my winch. Do you have the 90's and or 45's for further mock up?

I have 45s, ordered 90s. The 90s will get me into the engine compartment....after that I’ll wait for the kit as I’m sure it’ll have more, plus the clamps.

I don’t want to over-commit myself, but my plan is for custom welded aluminum piping from the 90 on the intercooler all the way to the turbo, to limit the silicone connectors.

What’s the best way to do custom piping? Do you mock it with pvc and then say ‘replicate this’ with aluminum?

Trial and error will be my method, cutting and fitting just aluminum though, no mock ups. I don’t want to give you any bad advice, I’m breaking new ground for myself here. I’m a computer systems guy looking to learn a little welding while building something I want. I’ll be sure to post pictures though(of the welds I want people to see ).

That being said, YouTube is full of good info.

Edit: I found the one I watched the other day, he makes it look easy.

Get some normal aluminum pipe and practice practice practice. A lot of Welding aluminum is timing and motor skills. Drill that shit till you're blue in the face.

Eek, don’t think so, but I may be coerced. Kit or no kit, I think the top of that intercooler needs a bracket, can’t think of any way to do it other than direct weld on top of the intercooler, can’t put that in a kit.

Or perhaps weld two brackets that bolt to each other, to facilitate removal if ever necessary

Welp.. I'm in the winch crowd so if this ends up working it makes my decision of a SC or turbo a little harder. Awesome work!!

I recommend not building it until you have the turbos mounted so you know where to set it up.
The setup as I have it only uses 2 couplers.

Maybe we can persuade Mat to seat a winch down behind his bumper and mock up an alternate kit for us  good busy work for his kids since they're at home now, this will keep them out of his hair while he focuses on finishing tunes

Thanks for the input. Yessir, I just want to 90 out of the intercooler to make sure I can make the turn behind the headlights....after that I’m hoping to have a custom welded pipe from that 90 to the coupling/Y on the turbo itself AFTER it’s installed.

The bracket still needs to be welded to the intercooler though right?

My plan is for a bracket welded directly to the intercooler, that bolts to the passenger side bolt of the latch assembly. It will be removable. Am I saying that right?

Ah okay, yes, that makes sense. I initially imagined you welding a bracket on both the intercooler side and wherever else, basically committing 100% lmao
