I’ve decided to replace all the bushings, including cab bushings. 1” body lift? Purely for esoteric reasons, for that slightly aggressive, mid life crisis, gonna restore my 20 year old truck, pavement queen look.

Frame prep continues. As well as blasting stock calipers and wire brushing the other. Paint? Clear?

Powder is the best bet. Or just get done good caliper paint (g2, Eastwood’s, etc)

Strictly DIY. And I do not own a powder coating machine. I have Eastwood currently for the chassis paint. If I like it. I’ll get their brake caliper paint as well. Thank you sir!

I will be using these products on the frame. Says 300 ‘f on the can of chassis paint so I’m gonna use that on the calipers too. Epoxy Based, air activated product should work well.

This is Eastwood’s rust converter. It reacts to air and turns from white to aqua. It’s my first time using this product, but so far I really like it for that light surface oxidation that sits flush with the factory coating (which I don’t want to remove). Acts like a primer and designed to top coat with their chassis paint. I’ve done the underside already and I like the results. (Photos of that soon.)

actually, I think it reacts to iron, not air as previously stated.

Progress continues. Frame is done and curing under the carport. Meanwhile, the truck went up and disassembly began today.

That’s the idea my man, considering the first one only lasted me 19 3/4 years.

Couple of good evenings in the shop. I have the engine hoisted, the frame loose and ready to drop out. I’ll take the weekend off and get back at it Monday. Here’s a unique shot from the loft of my shop.

Dig your shop man! I love my garage but that height is really nice. Glad to see I am not the only guy that's pulled a motor with a come-a-long haha.
Really jealous of your progress. I am stuck in the waiting for shit to arrive phase...
