    So since 3 guys at work got "laid off permanently" I'm moving up a a truck. 2010 f450 4x4 v10 5spd with granny gear. Miller 250 Bobcat and Honda powered MiTM hybrid compressor/power unit.

    As of right now, there's a lot of unanswered questions about the direction the owner is moving with the company. He fired his nephew who was pretty much the manager, our lowboy driver and another guy. Down to 4 of us. For now the quarry has enough work needing caught up on to keep 3 guys busy with a 4th on occasion. With the way the economy has been trending, I'm not sure what is planned for the logging road building side of things. Even the timber land owners have cut back on loads to the mill. Last I heard was 5 per side a day. Some sides would normally keep 5 trucks busy with 3 trips a day, so definitely a significant decrease in operation means not good for us.

    Stay on top of the oil levels in that thing. I’ve seen several V10 blow up because drivers NEVER checked the oil

    Yeah, I heard these things will consume a bit between services. Isn't that usually how things work when you're a mechanic? Everyone else's stuff runs great while yours gets neglected?

    Would be a lot better if it was a powerstroke/manual combo vs the v10/manual. :turtleride:

    The only reason your old front diff is in my truck is because i replaced ALL the internals...the rear didn’t work out....


    Who is down/thinks a overnight van Epps or Gallagher lake trip is possible next weekend? I dunno what the snows doing up there right now
