Hopefully I'll have them on tomorrow, been sitting on these shims for awhile and hoping it takes care of a driveline vibe I've had for some time.

I didn't occur to me but I guess I'll end up getting a little lift out of the shims too, half inch or so. With the 3" from the springs I may have to put my tent back on if it's sitting way too high Iol. We'll see

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
I bought a new Spicer center bearing to install. I had some drive line vibes coming through between 65 and 70 mph. When I checked the center bearing it wasn't that bad. So later I installed shims with the AALs. All of the drive line vibes and axle wrap disappeared. I'll get around to installing the new center bearing, but there is no urgency now.

That is good to hear. I have a nasty highway vibe until I get over 70mph...55 - 70 it shakes and you can watch my hand vibrate with it on the wheel. Once I get over 70 it stops completely.

I bought a new carrier bearing as well awhile ago but never got around to installing it because the play in my OEM one seems normal to me, so I don't think it's that either. Hopefully the shims will correct the vibe for me too

If someone could take a 2-3 hour job and turn it into a weekend journey, that's you :luvya:

At least the address is gone...

Lol it took me 10 min to put on the shims

Also when you factor a 4 month old into the equation everything gets multiplied by at least 5

    Lol 2-3 hours.

I dont see how anyone can do it that fast. Yalls trucks must have 0 rust and all the bolts come out with ease. And the frame paint isnt raining down on you in the process resulting in having to do a frame resto at the same time haha.

There's a difference when you have the parts sitting there for an easy job vs not having them at all :luvya:

I did my leaf spring swap in about that time, and for 2 other members at the 3 hour mark only because I walked them through the steps.

    It's nice having no rust.

Honestly if I had to deal with the kind of rust I see on here on some guys' trucks I would find an entirely different hobby lol

Ever watch the South Main Auto channel on youtube?

I emulated him doing my leafs for the first time. Torches, saws, grinders etc. Weekend long affair of cussing and achy joints.

Who makes red poly bushings? Trying to figure out what brand Alcan put in these, not like it really matters just curious. One things for sure I'm gonna slather the hell out of these with Energy susp grease before they go in

Go with Superlube or w.e. that thick stuff is.

With that being said, I've never read people complaining about noise from their bushings.

Yeahhh not looking forward to that shit all over again. I do have a set of OEM rubber bushings for the front eyelets I'm tempted to use, or at least see if they'll fit. The rubber ones never made any noise
