Eh, I didn't say it wasn't a referred to as a dongle... It's as correct as calling it a computer peripheral. Or your Tacoma a motor vehicle. The correct name is a hasp. they used to be made as Serial or Parallel port connected devices before the move to USB (which is still just serial interface).
