I need a smaller rear view mirror

I feel your pain OP - especially in four way intersections. The mirror blocks the car to my right perfectly. I duck down every damn time now.

This is such an easy solution. I was not seeing dump trucks with the stock setup as well as possible. See the pics below:

This weekend I was reminded how much I dislike the mirror... although it's not the mirror per se, but actually the cabin design. Not made for tall people...

Every time I drive up a mountain on a curvy road, I have to duck considerably to see where I'm going (look below the rear view mirror). Left turns are no problem, but on right turns I have absolutely no visibility if I don't duck. (Yes, the mirror is pushed up all the way)

Tacomas are my favorite trucks by far, nothing comes even close, but if it weren't for this messy corona economy, I would sell it in a heartbeat. I'd probably get a 4Runner; I don't remember having this problem with them.

I know what you are saying. For me though, I like the excellent ground clearance, low roof, and legs forward seating. The visibility to the right is one sacrifice that I am okay with now.

I do have a feeling that the 4th Gen will address this very differently, which might bring along a whole new set of complaints.

So I lost my compass and auto dim but I don't care at all. I bought a $13 mirror off Amazon that's 8 inches wide and works perfect. It also articulates all the way up to the ceiling.

This and the mixed use of different dials, knobs, switches, and haptic buttons drives me crazy.

But it gets me everywhere I want so I live with it.

I installed one of the Rostra mirrors Bob had for sale for $119, which includes shipping. The mirror is frameless, smaller, and has HomeLink. The mirror was plug and play with the existing connector, couldn’t be easier to install and looks AWESOME, it actually looks way better and cleaner than the previous stock mirror.

If you go back to post #13 of this thread you will see the mirror Bob is selling and another member who posted their installed mirror.

It does seem weird, but I'm glad it's here. I'm 6'3" and have to duck under my mirror to see anything taller than another vehicle. I have a 2018 and can't lower my seat, so it'd be nice to have a mirror that can articulate all the way to the top.

If I remember it's 2.5" or so narrower as far as width and also will push up farther than stock. Before I couldn't see any of the electronics mounted to the windshield and now I can.
