What he is trying to say , imho, is a DB lift will maintain stock cv angles but in dropping the front diff it creates a more harsh drive shaft angle. Lifting the rear to correspond whether with blocks or custom springs puts the rear driveshaft at a much more severe angle. Just lifting the rear a couple of inches may create vibrations in the drive line unless corrected with a Carrier bearing drop or changing the pinion angle with shims. Strangely this isn’t consistent truck to truck. All of this can cause premature wear on driveline items like u joints and the carrier. Am I saying this is an issue or will happen? No I see lots of DB lifts around here the guys drive for years with no issues but they don’t off road either. There is a thread in here for guys with DB lifts full of some knowledgeable people may be worth a look.

Yes. Tons of people drive drop brackets lifts around. On roads. But the guy was like “bet it does better off road brotha”...at that point someone’s gotta point out that when you lift like that, your truck becomes a liability off road compared to even no lift at all. Dude got took by a snake oil salesman.

I understand and am in no way choosing sides in reality IDGAF hat folks put on their trucks. It’s just none of my business. If he enjoys it cool if it breaks off road we’ll so be it honestly they all do or can depending on how they ar wheeled.

People don’t like to listen to 22 year olds who supposedly have life by the balls. Partly because they’re jealous, but mostly because they’ve been there done that or witnessed many many 22 year old winners crash and burn into charcoal as they’ve progressed through their adult lives.

Maybe it's just me getting older, but I can't clown on this guy. Or maybe my sense of humor is busted.

Truck looks nice. Would I drive it? Probably not but I'm not paying the note so, in that case, fuck what I would drive.

If he can afford it like he says he can? Wonderful. I sure as shit wish I had that cash to blow when I was his age. I was too broke from booze and loose women.

If he paid for everything with loans, credit card, etc sucks to be him. He will learn... Hopefully.

At the end of the day though, this isn't a dog pile that's worth it. There have been far better threads on TW. Like every oil and gasoline thread.

I have seen a dude in a FJ with a BDS 6" kit outwheel a big group of well equipped trucks in a race at an off-road event. It's not the equipment, it's the butt in the seat.
