    I think you probably measured mils, then your numbers would be typical. 3.5 mm is about an eighth of an inch, which would be pretty thick. What regions of the body did you guys measure?

    About 1/2 the thickness of a quail eggshell, or 1/4 the thickness of a hen’s eggshell.

    Hood, quarter panel, door etc. I made him measure all over because he claimed it had been repainted. Nope just shitty factory paint job.

    My 2007 040 white, built in Fremont CA was flawless until January 2019 and then the paint flaking/lifting started to happen
    Mine started on a door jamb

    Yeah.
    We have a white '15 Corolla that is part of a paint service campaign (not sure if it is considered a recall). It looks fine to me, but I will eventually have it checked. Not sure if that extends to other models, but if it doesn't now, it might eventually.

    Just noticed our 2017 White Tacoma has same issue, same spot as many. Passenger side already chipped & driver side is barely starting.
