Hi everyone. Just upgraded my tacoma from a 1st Gen to a 2015 2nd Gen recently, 4 door double cab long bed TRD sport. I bought a twin ARB compressor and Slee off road mount and was wondering the best area to mount my compressor switch for air. I was thinking of mounting it in the engine compartment as it will be easy to use when pumping up tires vs in the cab where you have to walk back and open the door each time to turn it on. was going to run the locker switch to the cab. let me know your thoughts.

Welcome. I did the same...1st gen to 2014 DCLB. I got a great deal on the hi-output single and mounted it in the engine bay along with the switch in the cab. My plan will be ARB airlocker(s) someday but for now I don't mind flipping the switch in the cab and walking around to the tires with a hose.

The compressor will cycle off once it hits its PSI max and will cycle on when there's a demand for air. You could add an inline switch under the hood. Turn on the master switch in cab and then you could have the option of turning the compressor on/off from under the hood.

This is where I mounted mine. I was worried about my legs hitting them so I installed a switch with a safety cover. All the power goes through it first. I have never accidentally cut it on or off. I didn't like the look of the ARB switches around the other Toyota switches.

Ok So I got the compressor installed and hooked up to the battery and the switch wires run through the fire wall. Now I need some guidance as where to plug/tie into a 12v power source for the compressor switch so its only on when the keys are on and a source for the dimming light. Picture would be great. thanks.

Add-a-fuse here for the compressor relay coil power.

Thanks. ok walk me through how to add a fuse? what parts do I need? would you recommend a fuse tap? where do I put the wires and does the key wire go to one switch or can I put both key and light dimmer wire on the same fuse. how to I figure out what amp fuse to put in?

Google "add a fuse". Looking at the results, you will see what I'm refering to. You are using a relay for the compressor, right?

If you’re running locker(s) you should have a 105psi switch (on the ARB manifold or small air tank), anything more you run risk of blowing the o rings in the locker. It doesn’t need a lot of PSI and only a small amount of air to engage.

How difficult was the switch install in this location? Route wires through firewall and tap into power?

routing wires thru firewall is pretty easy, just follow the main wiring, the fuse box is right there so easy to 'add a fuse' (see previous) then just route excess wiring towards that centre - i think i had to 'doctor' one wire as it (the ch4x4 switch) had one less connection than the factory - cant remember what it was but i just feed the wires thru the slot, attached everything and sorted out to get it to work. once i had all the wires set, i slid that switch into the slot. side note : not sure how easy it would be to get the switch out from there - im sure there is a way - so i made sure everything was good to go before setting it into its slot -but i like that its clean and out of the way. ive had no worries with it

Perfect! I’m about to mount mine.

I was thinking up top in between the two lights or the glasses dropped down compartment.

let’s see more pics of your setups.

How do you gain access to the center console blanks? I’d like to eventually mount a Redarc Tow-Pro Elite knob in one of the blanks.

    Thanks
