Method NV - Stock lug nuts OK?

I’m just a little confused if the rim only allows so much of the stud to stick out how would an extended thread allow more threads to be covered. I would think the extended thread would be needed only if the stud was longer. Let’s say a 1.2in of the stud is sticking out and the extended lug is 1.6 only 1.2in of the stud would be threaded so he .4 in. Of lug would be hollow. Again not trying to be rude or anything just trying to understand.

 

Extended thread lug nuts actually insert into the stud opening in the wheel and grab onto the “unexposed” threads.

 

This is an ET lug nut, it has extended threads below the conical portion to reach through the hole in the wheel to engage the appropriate amount of the stud :

Yep, those are what I have on my Method NVs. Very happy with them.

 

Awesome thanks going to be purchasing them today, then the wheels Wednesday. Unfortunately discount tires warehouse won't ship out wheels til may 8th so gotta wait til the 15 the latest.

 

I just got these wheels and these were the lug nuts provided I feel like they might be short. Are these the conical extend? Thank you in advance

 

Do they stick out of the lug hole? Mine sit flush, I would like for them to stick out

 

Bad photo I know, but yes they stick out. I’ve since sold these wheels. And regarding the “ET” lugs, the extended portion refers to the part that goes into the wheels, to grab more threads. If that makes any sense. So it’s hard to answer your question based on your pic above

 

Yeah by looking at the photo definitely stick out, I'm pretty certain my lug nuts are not ET. Would it be wise to change then to ET? Do you remember where you bought yours from?

 

Anybody using locking lugs? I want a set of 4 for piece of mind
