The SKINNY on skinny tires

Those actually look like a good tire. I like that they are on the lighter end as well. I’ll strongly consider these.

 

Do you have a pic of the coursers on your truck?

These are the best shots I have, with a little bit of flex to show front/rear wheel well clearance with some uptravel. On a stock rig, the only rub I've experienced is up front when entering parking lots/ramps at an angle with significant steering angle, or braking with significant steering angle. All on the mud flaps. I pulled them off before and fixed pretty much all my rub issues, just had to throw them back on for winter.

 

Those look good! I have 4 in my cart for 210 a piece. Just hesitating right now lol

 

If it helps, I bought 5 and after I chopped my exhaust to just past the axle it fit flawlessly in the spare well too.

 

Wow, 70? Did you by any chance do a chalk test at that psi? I may have to try some increased psi's. I'm fine at 37 except for lower mpg's.

Front on with the 255s

 

Your relentlessness when it comes to these tires finally made me pull the trigger on them! I bought 4 for the time but will pick up a fifth shortly. I just spent a nice chunk of change on an OME lift. Hope they work well together without rubbing! If so I hear a spacer may fix it. Thanks eubeenhadd

 

My wheels will be in Thursday and i need tires now. My truck has the RC spacer lift up front and nothing in the rear. I don’t plan on any major off-roading or wheeling. The wheels i orders are SCS SR8 in 17x8.5 -10 offset, can anyone tell me if 266/75/17 STT Pro will rub?
Pics would also be amazing.

That’s basically the stock tire size. I don’t imagine you’ll have a rubbing issue. Hoping someone here can give you a more definitive answer than that. Good luck.

 

i fat fingered that one.. it was supposed to be 255/75/17. Or even 255/80/17. Sorry for the confusion

is 265/75r17 an available size? That would certainly be a popular option.

 

Oops. I only looked at the width and aspect ratio while neglecting the rim diameter.

 

It was supposed to be 255/75.. i just want the tallest tire i can get that will not rub anywhere, and not have to start cutting or banging on a $25k truck..

 

You'll be fine even at 255/80 because two of my friends had those put on before their lifts and they didn't rub as long as they weren't wheeling hard through rock gardens and such. So that's the tire size I'm going with via Wildpeaks AT/3 and I've already got a 1.5" lift and I'm waiting for a Discount Tire or 4Wheel Parts sale through.

 

How long have you ran these tires? I've had serious cupping issues with coursers if they weren't religiously rotated. So much so I vowed to never run them again after having a set on a 3/4 dodge and my old jeep.

 

I think since the wheel has a negative offset, you might have a tiny bit of rubbing on a 255/80/17 like I did. Mine rubbed a little bit on the inner front fender when I went over a bump or dip at over 10 mph. It was a super easy fix as I just cut a little piece of plastic out.

 

I'm not big on a lot of modding because these trucks are well built to tackle a lot of tasks, and the CXT strikes me as the best fit for it. It's everything the stock tire needed to be and wasn't.
