Rock chip from highway I guess. Pretty much not picking but any clues on a fix?

this is hands down the best way to fix small rock chips.

i used this all the time on my estoril blue bmw, which is a notoriously hard paint to color match. it was a perfect match and unless you are within a few feet and know exactly where the chip is, it is virtually impossible to detect.

I figured more out. The 612-40 aren’t specific to 4x4 btw, they are the updated version for the 3rd gens across the board. The 610-40 are for the 2nd gen and at first suggested for the 3rd gen until sumo made a 3rd gen version (which is smaller to address rough riding, and have a gap between spring and frame unloaded)

Actually yesterday but confirmed 285/70r17 ridge grapplers with SCS wheels will fit on a non-lifted 3rd gen with a little plastic trimming and heat gun molding. Waiting on my lift to get here this week!

That is the next tire size I want but I do not want or need a lift. Bigger tires would suit me fine. Show us what you had to trim and mold with the heat gun.

Sorry to see those chips. Someone shot the side of my truck out quail hunting last year. About a dozen #7 size shot chips. I got touch up paint from the dealer. Not perfect, but then I know where to look. Wish I could have gotten my hands on who did that. Sure it wasn’t on purpose, but still.

There is a local guy that is running the same setup, no lift, which is why I went ahead and tried it. I did not take before pictures but here are a couple after. I had to take off the air dam/spoiler. I could trim it but I think I’m gonna leave it off. I drilled a new hole for the inner fender liner in the front to move it forward about half an inch, then trimmed so I could get the clip to the new hole. Wherever the tire rubbed on the inner fender I just heated up and pushed back a little until it cooled. It is pretty thin and molds pretty easily. Here are the pics

Thank you sir! They are the -10 offset. I’m pleasantly surprised that there is no noticeable power loss. Maybe it would be more noticeable when towing but I’m very happy in that regard. I’m doing the eibach 2” lift this week.
