Swirl marks

what the best way to get rid of swirl marks ???? sstep by step and what kind chamoie you guys use????

Swirl marks are a bastard to get rid of at times (especially with dark coloured paints). My best secret to getting rid of them is to use my polisher (Makita) with a soft foam pad, at LOOOW RPM (guys polishing seem to love high RPM's for some reason...) and a fine finishing polish, or even glaze depending on how bad the swirls are.

Make sure to use very little pressure on the paint (with the polisher) and use a "figure-8" motion. This eliminates excessive product application on any one specific area, and thus, removes your swirls.

I like to use 3M's "Ultrafina" as a finishing step on my customers' vehicles, along with the 3M blue pad.

 

how long does it last??? before the swirls appear again???

 

depends on how long you wait before you do whatever caused the swirls in the first place. I am not being facitious here, swirls are not generated spontaneously; they are a product of working the finish.
