They could sell some parts. Though, I remember a number of salvage yards refused to take the vehicles due to the restrictions.

The "hull" of the vehicle must be crushed within 180 days. Cut off or unbolted front-end assemblies may be saved and sold at a later date, as well as the "top and back" of pickup cabs.

 

theres a video the guys i work with have of a ls400 that got traded in under the program... they never got the engine to sezied. 15 minutes into it running with that shit at full throttle, the CATS CAUGHT FIRE.

Out of the 3 leaf AALs, Dakars, and All Pro Expos these Alcan leafs were the biggest PITA to install. Had to ratchet strap and move the axle way more than I did the others (never even had to do that with the Expos). But they're installed, now to clean up and take her for a test drive
