Yes, but I think the point was to show how hot they get without airflow i.e. the hottest they will get.

Haven’t really been driving anywhere lately, much less for an hour. The airflow would certainly help cool the lens and operating temps on a moving vehicle would certainly be lower. The back of the fogs are tucked out of the air stream, the passenger would get more cooling from the intake vent. Not a very easily repeatable experiment though to compare products vs a controlled bench test. The idea of a fan isn’t bad, but it isn’t an accurate simulation of being mounted either. I may take a thermal reading at some point in the future after driving with with the SS3 selective yellow Pros since that is what is mounted on my truck. What would be most interesting to see is the thermal readings in below freezing conditions.

Yeah, definitely late for the season of cold weather testing.

Hopefully quick question. I have a pair of cheap offroadtown fogs in and they now produce significant radio interference... is there a specific cause like a failing ground or is it an unavoidable problem?

Poor ground wouldn’t be a bad guess. If you just disconnect them does the radio interference go away? Or is the interference present if the fogs are off?

If you are getting radio interference you need to get an EMI RFI filter/suppressor. I don’t have any specific product recommendation but if you search Amazon you’ll get plenty of hits.

    thanks guys.
The interference is only present when the lights are on.
I'll check Amazon for those filters

I've been running the DD SS3 Pros since December, and they do great in the snow. No excessive reflection back at the driver, and they really help out in day or night conditions.

I helped @kitop310 with some fog recommendations a while back and he went with the Rigid SAE SR 6" fogs as aux fogs which turned out super clean.

    Comparing fogs in yellow:
Horizontal Beam spread: Rigid D-series, 52 degrees Rigid SR 6" 68 degrees, DD SS3 Pro 80 degrees
-Meaning the SS3s will have a wider pattern area than the SR, which is wider than the D-series.
Lux at 10M: Rigid D-series 106 lux, Rigid SR 101 lux, DD SS3 Pro 109 lux

While the D-series are lower output than the SR, the D-series has a narrower projection projection, covering a smaller area and doing so at a slightly higher intensity than the SR which has a wider spread. The SS3 Pro though covers a larger area *and* higher intensity output than either Rigid product. The Rigid SR does package very well in the lower valence to run as an aux fog as pictured above. Note that it is only street legal to run one set of fogs at a time. Aka you cannot legally run 4 fogs on the street.

For light bars, no. There is for 2nd and 3rd Gen headlights. I have tested some aux LED driving light products.

With light bars there are a few common beam patterns; spot, flood, spot/flood combo (often mistakenly called 'driving') and driving beam which is an aux high beam. It is important to purchase the pattern that is best suited for your desired use case. For a truck that will see primary use on the street, a real driving beam (not combo) will be most effective.

I'm trying to install my dd ss3 pros and I am about to hook up the adapters to the engine bay harness. Is green or white positive/hot? I don't want to plug them up backwards

I'm not sure which one is hot, but plugging them in backwards won't hurt anything. If they don't turn on just reverse the switch

It unfortunately will make trouble shooting that much harder should they not turn on. Then idk if my cabin wiring is awry or the fog light polarity

Shit I didn't realize you have an SR. Someone else with better wiring experience will chime in and help you out. Sorry about that

Not knowing the polarity shouldn’t prevent you from trying it. Before finalizing the mounting, plug them in and turn them on. If they don't light up, reverse the H11/H16 to pod adapter and re-test. If they still don’t light up you have a wiring problem. Use a multimeter or simple bulb voltage detector to confirm you are getting power at the connector.
