2010 rear diff plug leaks, washer replaced

My diff plug leaks even after i replaced the washer, leak before. Replaced fluid and now i continue to have seepage. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Not over filled as fluid does not come out when plug is removed

 

I would try a new plug as well as a new seal.

Take a whiz wheel and clean up the mating surfaces, new drain plug and washer.

 

Welp when i decided to check it, it was dark and didnt have my handy dandy cell phone on me

Why does he need to replace the plug if it isn't stripped?

Clean the mating surfaces of both the plug and the differential. Install a new gasket/crush washer and tighten the plug.

 

Teflon tape. I use it on all of my drain and fill plugs, have for years. It works great.

 

You installed it to the correct torque? I would go a squooch tighter and see what happens.

 

Didn’t think of that. Isn’t their a Teflon tape for oil?

 

Yeah torqued it to spec but I’ll crank it a bit more

 

I see stripped threads in your future.

Get the pink teflon tape if that is what you choose. It's a bit thicker and more dense than the white.
