It weighs next to nothing (relatively speaking). Maybe 80 lbs. I’m going to weigh it once it’s totally done.

Dang that's quite a bit of weight savings compared to your old bumper.

Yeah about 40-50 lbs. My new bumper will weigh about the same as a stock bumper/hitch.

Installed some RCI Metalworks lower control arm skids. Had to modify them to be able to fit with the TRD skid plate. Also installed some retrofits I just had done.

Did some rust prevention today, which turned into far more of a project. Bolt was stripped out (assume from previous owner attempting rust prevention... wasnt me!) and had to drill it out. That insert then snapped and bent down inside. Welded a new bolt in (yes its offset but it fits well and door shuts perfectly). primed and ready for paint as soon as the colormatched paint comes in.

Ok..so I finally got the time to measure the gap between my truck and my garage entrance - it's about 10". I guess a 3" lift with 285s will fit.

Started to detail the inside of the Tacoma, some progress made but spent most of the day with the grandkids. Their living with us now and so is their mother.

We're all recovering from moving to a new house.
Easiest way to describe what we'er going through is this ,

Imagine that Hell is made of cardboard boxes and the outcome is like a Roseanne sitcom on Groundhog day .

The good news is I found out the family room has hardwood floors, been covered since we moved in on March 6th.

Well I got a little off track about the move so maya coopa.

Yea , it didn’t take me long to figure something would go wrong . I’d worry about it vibrating off while driving or something worse .

It's going to get hotter than the OEM cap because it's made of Aluminum. Aluminum is a better conductor of heat vs the Plastic OEM Cap.

As far as the cap backing out: The Aluminum cap and the filler tube are made of dissimilar materials. I don't know, It's possible. You add heat, oil, vibration and dissimilar materials... It's possible. It's not under pressure though. You could check it's tightness for a few months just to see if it's an issue

Finally added my @CBoy808 decals to the tailgate to match my bedside and front doors. Playing off the CA 60s plates colors.
