I have no idea what the names are. I usually just pick something and try not to worry about it :) Hasn’t failed me yet :)

Just on on ingredients alone...prime rib vs ribs?
I’d pick prime rib any day. I’d rather have ribeye grilled directly on coals but yeah, prime rib over ribs for sure.

Spent some time on the badonkadonk today.

I’ve been using an aluminum step ladder to get in and out. It sucks. So I started the stairs.

For some reason I bought this 1/2” Latvian Birch plywood last year. It has water proof glue, 10 layers, no voids and no knots. It was also $105 for a sheet.
I’ve been super hesitant to cut into it. its so nice I don’t want to mess it up.

Today I took the plunge. First I made a foam core template and then made an OSB version and then final birch ply version.

It’s currently just stuck together and it already will hold my wait with no fasteners of any kind.

I still need to round over all the edges and round off the corners, glue it, screw it and wrap it all in epoxy fiberglass.

    Me too :anonymous:

I did a simple SPOG rub and smoked with mesquite. It was very good.

Initially I was going to do a tri-tip but the prime rib was a dollar per pound cheaper...

I need to do it again.

Weird how brisket and tri-tip are so expensive now and how they used to be considered such poor cuts of meat.
I blame the pellet grills or easy bake grills crowd :D

Damn...that’s a good deal. Hope you stocked up!
Tri Tip is over rated. I like it. It’s okay. I see it all over the friggin place. It’s usually a reasonable price though, I suppose.
    Flank steak is meh.
Rib Eye and Prime rib are king.
    Filet is shit.
I haven’t had a NY strip in forever. Those are decent.

Does anyone use a Waterport or similar while camping? Trying to decide which route I want to go for water storage and use. As of now, we’re just using a 7 gallon container with a spout.

I just picked up a waterport from a fellow member and our plan is to use that for dishes, washing stuff off, etc.
We also have a 2 gal Stanley water jug for our potable water source.

    Yes.
Anyone selling a cheaper bed rack for a 3rd gen? Not sure if they are universal

Or bed bars or anything that’s sturdy enough to hold an rtt that isn’t 1000 dollars

Pretty much any food that is intentionally spoiled and/or fermented is wonderful.

I made a French Onion soup for the first time yesterday. Came out pretty good. Looking for great. May need a better recipe. Or alter the one I have. Just not sure what’s missing.

Ignore the tomatoes. They were left over from the BLT's earlier.

Stock. To have a great French Onion soup you need to use lots of onion and beef bone to make the stock.

I had what I thought was decent beef broth, but it didn't specifically say, beef 'bone' stock. That, indeed, may be the missing ingredient. On the second day I added more beef broth. It definitely improved.
