spacer kit

im having a hard time loosening the bolt can anyone help??? i tried taking the bolt of,but seem like it on there for life... also when you put these on do you need a aligment right away??? i was gonna get a 1" spacer, but what the max you can go with the djm arms and the xr stock springs????





what it takes
4 bolts 1" longer then you stock spindle bolts
4 nuts 1 size larger then the bolts (to just slide around the new bolts w/o play but not threaded on )
8 washers the size for the spindle bolts (one on the top and bottom of the nut/spacer)

which one the castle nut in the middle or the two on the side?

 

the two on the side???? if looking from the botto, turn left to loose right??? im gonna need a impact gun or nooo???

 

anyone did this cause how did you guy loosen the two nut each side and which way if looking from the bottom???

just go at it with a breaker bar. i think its tourqued down pretty good to like 80 or 100 ft lbs or so.

 

do you think a impact gun will ruin it???? i have one and wanted to know before i go at it

well im gonna do the ghetto way and get a bigger nut with the grade 8 bolt from ace hardware just seen it today and it only 2.00 for a bolt not bad

 

any updates on this? I was thinking of doing this but don't know the bolt size. The OSH were down the street from me has a bunch of grade 8 stuff.

 

havent had time been working a lot....... yeh what the boltsize

 

I was looking on here and seen the lift section, something about a 14mm. not sure have to look more into it though.

this is what I got from CT but it is regarding a lift kit

"2005-2007 Toyota Tacoma 4” lift spindle from Allied Motorsports. This spindle maintains stock suspension and steering geometry and we are planning on making it compatible with any manufacturers long travel kit. (We will be test fitting a set later this week) It will work with any UCA or bolt-in lift coil over. The biggest upgrade from stock is that now the lower ball joint plate is in double shear by two ½” thick tabs with 5/8” bolts, whereas factory is a single shear blind thread with 14mm bolts. The ABS sensor is relocated from the side of the spindle and placed on the top with its own access pocket. The caliper tabs are machined into spindle, they are not welded on. There is no cutting or grinding: the entire system is bolt-on. A longer brake line will be needed to run this spindle. We are looking to have a March 2007 release date and are taking pre-orders soon. Call or stop by for more info."

I am going to see if the 14mm socket will fit on my OE spindle bolts, hopefully that will give me more of an idea or maybe what kind of bolt I need.

 

what about the treading

 

that's where I'm worried. I am going to take out one of the bolts on my truck and take it to the OSH down the street from me to see if I can get the bolt size/threading. Will let you know.

 

haven't been able to see about the bolt, been pretty busy with work. Hopefully I can get this done soon (after I get my new tires, if I don't end up swapping rims).
