Literally just ended a long term relationship because of this at 23. It sucks but it felt right

Fair enough. I just find talking about finances as tacky/awkward.

You’re not allowed to not like it because it’s not your money. I am now the official ambassador for a better positive-only opinionated world. Welcome.

True, I guess I could go to Vegas and watch someone lose at a craps table instead

It is quite the train wreck. Hence I keep popping in. Guess I'm guilty by association and part of the problem.

More like 24k before taxes. Your employer may want to be careful working you so hard. Child labor laws are a bitch.

No not that- sometimes like 20 bucks to take a set of good tires off a vehicle headed to the auction or junkyard. Just cheap oil and parts. Most techs don’t give a shit about your vehicle. I learned to always do your own maintenance

It always seems like that in the moment, but then 10 years later when you find out she was having an affair that whole fantasy crumbles like broken glass.

I kind of feel bad for the guy when you look at some of these comments. He's taking quite a beating. He didn't seem like a bad guy. I try not to speculate on other peoples' financial positions, though the comment about the money and his wife did raise an eyebrow. I hope he was kidding.

I read quite a bit on diesel forums, and some of the builds there are stupid expensive. I remember one where a guy just got out of the military and sunk like $100k into a new diesel truck when he had a wife and a few young kids. He ended up selling it and taking a bath. Not my thing but everybody has a right to live their life as they see fit.
