That would depend on what trim and options the 2019 has compared to which 2020 you would purchase.

    For instance:
-If you were to buy a 2020 it were to be an SR5
-And if the 2019 is a fully loaded OR with all the options you want
-and you don't care about the upgrades the 2020 has
-then, I would go for it

But if the 2019 is not exactly what you want and you want the upgrades the 2020 has, then maybe consider paying a little more for what you want

Totally. Frankly this stuff is so tiring it is hard to keep it all straight -- but maybe that is just me and I have buyers fatigue ...

I sat in the 2019 today. It seems loaded. That means navigation, back up camera, etc. Pretty much everything. The only two things it is missing that I would prefer -- the adjustable seat and Apple Car Play. The adjustable seat would be nice because I find the Tacoma's seats shockingly uncomfortable and hard to position. Apple Car Play would be nice but not a deal breaker one way or another.

    Decisions ... decisions ...

    I definitely understand the fatigue.
I try not to make important decisions when I feel that way, I would take a break from the dilemma and come back to it with a fresh mind.

I would see what I could afford in a 2020 and compare both vehicles and prices. Look at the pros and cons of each option.

    Good luck!

Another consideration if you’re financing could be interest rate. Generally you’re going to get a better interest rate on a new car.

Same setup here. Went with 1.9% instead of rebate. $36,300. Western Colorado.

@deusxanime, got it from Dahl Toyota in Winona. Found them on CarGuru originally and then got contacted by Andy. If you look them up, tell him Rich Dressen from Utah sent you; he’ll get a smile out of it for sure.

We stopped by the local dealer earlier this week and they said their sales were down about 57% for the month compared to the same point in April 2019.

I figured sales would stay down for a bit and that includes used car sales, which would impact trade values. I saw some of that while looking recently. It was easier to find decent prices on the new truck than get a decent trade value.

How much did you sell it for if you don't mind me asking? Attempting to do the same.

Carson Toyota was really sleazy when I checked there 2 years back.

They also had laughably limited stock.

Bed Mat and Go Pro. Toyota made it so good, doesn't need much mods. Don't like getting her dirty!!
Outside of the '20 having a power seat, I think the real difference here is financing. With the new Tacoma and a good credit score, you should qualify for the 0.9% APR financing, potentially saving you 3 to 4K for the life of the loan. I use the auto loan calculators in https://www.free-online-calculator-use.com/ to compare total cost of cars. Then you will know what your true costs are and whether you are really getting a great deal.

Thanks for the feedback. That is my thinking as well. It seems like if I get the 2019 the only drawback is 8K miles on it (which is really minor and it has a CPO Warranty) and the power seat for the driver (which I kind of wanted but not a deal breaker). The dealer offered to finance at nearly the same rate but I will put half down and pay the balance by the end of the year so while financing is a factor it won't matter as much.

What I am doing now is getting a quote for the exact same 2019 (same features, packages) in a 2020 and comparing the actual numbers side by side so I can see what the specific delta is.

In my experience though, they won’t give you those sale type of low 0% or .9% interest rate offers if you were getting a bunch off of MSRP already(12%).

By going through the different dealers, they don’t really want to move on the price without seeing something in writing from another dealer. And they are protective of the price breakdown worksheets. They won’t just give them out. Does anybody have any good tactics for getting things in writing?

In my experience of going through online pricing they don’t give them out until you’re sitting at their desk..
