I pick up my first Taco Friday. A TRD Off Road. I really love the pro, but just couldn’t pull the trigger on that price! My question is...Is it frowned upon amongst Taco owners to turn (Appearance wise) your “Off Road” into a “Pro” w/, wheels, grill, shifter knob, and even badging?

    First off, welcome!

Secondly, it's your truck, do what you want. But why spend all that money for something you couldn't afford in the first place? Be happy with what you have and drive it!!!

Welcome to TW! I am actually trying to do the same thing you are doing. Next step is wheels/tires.

    Welcome!

And Honestly, its your truck brother do whatcha want with it. BUT I have seen people add alot of the PRO unique items on their rigs. I did put a pro grill on my OR because I just don't like the look of the chrome stock one. 20200315_140842.jpg

Thank you! Never said, I couldn't afford it. Just said, didn't want to pay that price. Big difference! I can do all the changes for around $3,000 cash compared to the $10,000 financed price difference.✌

What tires do they give you on the OR? I want to buy PRO wheels and want a good set of tires to replace my stock SR5s.

The badging bothers me. I mean, it's your truck and if it makes you feel better, I guess do it. But in all honesty I would judge someone for putting fake badges on their vehicle. Everything else though, go for it. Lots of people do that.

But that’s the coolest part!!! Lol! No, I get where your coming from. I think I feel the same way. I see they make the pro styling badges that say off road. I could go that route and not feel like a fake.

Thanks man! The white looks super nice. I hope you enjoy your rig and build it to your hearts content  :spending:

Frankly I'm not sure. But mine came with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W for some reason (not complaining)

Thanks! How do you like your bed cover? Just watched a review on it this morning. Did you get the HD? And what rack system are you running?

I'm still salty that the pro doesn't come with better tires.

I absolutely LOVE it I got a deal with a group buy so it was a bit cheaper. It is the SD version, I couldn't foresee myself needing the 1600-lb hauling capacity. Its waterproof, locks, and just looks great. So worth it. As for the rack I'm running frontrunner but modified system. Saw it on LLOD but he saw it on a TW thread (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diamondback-covers-modifications.553966/#post-18227507)

Welcome to the club! Do whatever you wanna do to it man, just don't put TRD pro badges on it haha. I too have the white TRD Off Road and my wife and I love it. I think the thing that bothered me the most was that it was white on black then had chrome badges, grille and end caps so I just plasti dipped everything and replaced the chrome end caps with color matching, it's definitely a must do for the white OR but have fun with whatever you decide to do!
