I don’t think there’s any reason not to, just be smart about it (don’t sell to minors, have your bill of sale, etc etc). Anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Ah yeah, that’s a fair point. I was just commenting on the sale of firearms in general, didn’t really think about the BST rules. Not sure how they apply within threads like this one, but I know they apply for making your own thread in the BST section.

I wouldn't worry too much about a bill of sale. Bout as useless as the paper it's written on...

 

From my understanding, Bill of sale is just a CYA sorta deal. Heaven forbid the guy did something bad with it right before selling it to you, you have his DL info and date/signature, so you’ve got something saying “I didn’t have this firearm until after the that thing happened” should you ever get questioned. At least that’s how my LEO buddies presented it. I still have a bill of sale from the one private sale I bought many years ago, but I’m also a naturally paranoid person. Haha.
