    Has anyone else experienced a slight howling noise at highway speeds 70/80 mph on the new 2020 Tacoma??? It sounds like it’s intermittent wind related, hard to tell where it’s coming from.

    Any info would be helpful, thank you.

    Sound anything like this;

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...oise-howling-when-feathering-throttle.442341/

    If it is related to that...

    Make sure your leaf packs are not dirty.
    Use a brush and some grease and brush grease in between the leafs of your leafsprings especially near the end of the leafs where the friction pads are.
    OR Use something like Fluid Film or other spray type grease in your leafpacks.

    If that trick quietens it down a bit then you have the rear end harmonics.

    OR You may be missing one of the body plugs scattered around the underside of the truck. Most common ones that create a noticeable whistle are the ones on the lower control arms, the two outside bottom holes should be plugged.

    I put duct tape over all the LCA holes that weren’t plugged from the factory and the annoying howl went away.... YES!!!! Lol.
    Do you know of the size plugs I can get? and I’ll just drill a hole in them for drainage.

    Woot!
    Glad that was an easy one to diagnose.

    I don't know the sizes of plugs you'll need, but body plugs you can get from most auto supply stores and even the dealership.
    (dealer should give them for free since you did the diagnostics for them, but will cost you time while they dick around)

    Hopefully someone on here has better info on where to get the body plugs...

    The small hole on each lower A frame can be filled with these plastic plugs from Lowes or Home Depot. I used these plugs on a 16 and 17 Tacoma in order to eliminate a howl noise from the front of the truck.

    Was wondering if removing the front valance on the models that have one, could have an effect on the turbulence across the A-arms. Just a thought.
