i mean, the allpro relocation plates work just fine. They are beef. have two options. Hell of a lot cheaper than getting a new leaf and taking apart your pack.

Have had them for years. No issues, I don't see how they would cause issues and be sketch :notsure: It's a solid piece of steel haha

It won't, keep in mind the wheel "swings" as the leaf goes up and down. You'll rub.

There are two things I don't like about relocation plates (+stacked with shims)
    1. Stacking. Take it to an extreme and you're basically putting a block lift under your leafs, which I think we all don't really love the idea of.
    2. Leverage and stress. Now, sure you're only moving the leaf pack 3/4" or 1" in some direction, but that means you're no longer centering it on the perch. That's going to put weird stresses on the perch, and means your ubolts aren't going to be bolted around the center pin as they should be - putting "undesigned" stress on the leaf pack as well.
So, maybe "sketch" isn't as sketchy as running 3 bolts on your LBJ, but it's not ideal either.

I like the idea of the revised top leaf to fix the axle location, especially since I'm already running a shim underneath the leaf springs now.

Was this something Alcan was able to get out to you pretty quick? I need to get in touch with them anyway regarding the u-bolts not being the right size.

I'm not in much of a hurry anyway, definitely in no hurry to disassemble my leaf springs again lol. But definitely want to get it taken care of before the next off-pavement trip

I saw on a Pirate thread that some people just drill a new hole on their axle for the pin to seat in. Not sure I'd want to go that route though

The weird thing is that it seems to happen for some and not others. Maybe it's a later 1st gen issue vs early 1st gen, I'm not sure. My Expos nearly had me rubbing the front of the wheel well. They could probably argue that we're all running larger than stock tires, and they wouldn't be wrong lol.

Ask them about it when you get in touch with them about the U-bolts.
I'm curious what they have to say about the centering issue.

@turbodb If you don't mind me asking, how much was it for Alcan to make you a new main leaf? Or did they cover the cost?

I believe mine are centered just fine on my 04. Honestly haven't really paid attention but nothing rubs in the rear.
