Lifting to fit 285/75/16

Hello,

I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro, I’m looking to lift it to fit 285/75/16. I’m having trouble finding a 1-1.5” lift, does anyone have any suggestions?

getting ready to do a 1 1/2 front and a 1 in. rear cast block... on my Pro... i got this strut spacer, and a 1 in block from Amazon..

Oh no, don't put a spacer lift on it. That's all everyone says when they want to lift a truck a few inches. But since it's a Pro it's okay.

 

I called headstrong off road this they suggested 1/2 in spacer that wood give 1 in of lift and a 1 in block is that going to be enough to fit 33 or 285 and dont get how 1/2 spacer give 1 in of lift

 

Will 1/2in spacers that give 1 in of lift and 1 in blocks will I be able to fit 33 or 285 ?

 

Do lots more research, there's alot more to lifting these trucks than just installing a set of coilovers or spacers. Good luck with your truck

 

whatever the spacer thickness, double it for the amount of lift it should provide.

And to fit 33s (and especially dirtyfives) it's more about chopping, fuckton caster, trimming, and bashing (35s)

Everyone is always against spacers as it will cause all kinds of issues, compresses the springs and cause your ride to suffer. You cannot trust everything you hear. Also some say you can fit the 285s with no lift. Good luck, best bet is to try a reputable 4wd center in your area to make it work.

 

Or, you know, opens up the possibility of snapping the entire damper in half.

I'm looking to do the same thing. I was considering the 1/2" spacer from headstrong for the front and the icon 3 leaf progressive AAL for the rear.

i think you want alittle more in the front so its level,, my pro used to have a 3/4 in rake... now its more like an inch. rake,, with my 1 1/2 front spacer, i wont have to have the coils dissasembled, my spacer goes on top, i should have 1/2 in. or less of rake with the 1 inch rear block.. and the 1 1/2 in strut spacer. hoping to not have any issues with this small lift, its just for looks.

 

I don't want to be completely level. I did want to maintain some rake. I'm looking at the top ate spacers too. I dont want to change the ride quality with a pre load spacer. I've read people think it feels the same or they like more stiffness, but my luck ill put a pre load spacer on and it'll feel like crap and ill hate it haha.

Do you do any off roading with your truck or strictly pavement?
