Barely a rounding error. At that point, most of the money is in the tires anyway.

Good. I want to be able to sell it down the road as "only used to drive to church on Sundays"

I think the value of your truck will greatly rise post coronavirus as by that time the economy and civilization will have fully collapsed, and we will enter into one of many potential Mad Max scenarios.

Tacoma's will be in high demand, in this new world, due to their modification potential.

Your trade in value will tank in parrel with a new truck price. Trade in prices were high but so were the cost of a new truck. The ratio will stay about the same. Go get a deal on a new one. The cost of borrowing is lower.

My 2014 built today would cost 20% higher than what I paid in 2014.

Yeah...but it IS a limited. It can’t go off road, and it’s not very good at road racing. It’s limited in applications. I’ll tell ya what. I’ll give you 8 grand and we can call it even.

There's really no point in getting all emo because you didn't like what somebody offered you. I never understood that. What, your feelings were hurt because somebody was offering you less money than you think you're entitled to? There's a simple, polite answer: Thanks, but no thanks. If I were buying used in this marketplace, my offer would be the Kelley Blue Book Low Trade-In price. If I hurt somebody's feelings, that's their own fault. I have sold many a used car, truck and motorcycle. Lowballers never bothered me. I always just thank them for the offer but wait until I get something acceptable.

I don't care about the resale value of the truck I purchased 3 years ago. I pay off & drive all my vehicles into the ground. I am more concerned that my 84 year old mom stays healthy.

There’s a South African man 4 houses down and I’ve always suspected he’s been hoarding Krugerrands!

On the flip side, you might pick up a used Runner for a song in a bit.

    Awesome.

FWIW. I hate when people call dip "chew".

You don't chew dip, for God's sake.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I bought mine to keep and enjoy like I never could my charger. Sure they’re entirely different vehicles but it was getting old enoug it would lose even more value and getting a sweet deal on a new Taco which I can take my kids on adventures in as they get older was too good to pass up. Plus I’m sure in the long run they’ll still hold value better than anything else

I looked at trading in my 20 limited with 1800 miles and aftermarket wheels and tires and the jeep dealer offered me 37k for it on trade in, and that was 1 day ago. Its not all doom and gloom, I still have the truck cause they arent really lowering the price on the new vehicles all that much

    This just came out today:

Used-Car Prices Cratered. Here’s What That Means for the Auto Universe.

The Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index—a key benchmark for industry pricing—has declined about 11% compared with March and is down roughly 10% year over year. The last time the Index dropped a similar magnitude was, unsurprisingly, during the 2008-09 financial crisis.
