All the pu55y ass bullshit over gas pedals hitting floormats & not much of anything about this much more dangerous shit on the 1st gens. Why wouldn't this kinda crap be gettin more attention? I'm about to be lookin at doin my LBJs and LCA bushings so it's all freshy freshy after doin LR UCAs awhile back. This makes me wanna do them even more now even tho mine is 2nd gen. The construction in the LCA/LBJ area is much the same as 1st gens and I have always looked at the oem LCA connection to the LBJ with some concern due to the unbeefy appearance of it. Just more suck city nonsense that was never an issue when these were made in Japan.

You know now that you mention it, it did drive slightly different a couple days before it happened. But it was so slight that i thought it had to be less than maybe a tire that was kinda flat. Yeah that would be very cool if someone showed us what it looked like.

Thanks man I hope not too I dont think its too bad just some new ball joints and a new axle/ what ever that thing is called. EVERYONE GET YOUR TRUCK INSPECTED IF POSSIBLE! Dont let this happen to you. This happened when I was driving down a very flat, minimal bump road and it randomly happened so go check yours and anything else you can

I have to agree with your point about things looking awfully anemic down there. When I look at my '01 straight on those front end parts look like toothpicks. Honestly I am glad I opted out of bigger tires/rims on this thing.

Yeah that was probably a good decision on your part. What I don't understand is that It has taken some way bad blows, while traveling pretty fast, that im astounded that it didn't break, but yet it goes out on a road. Doesn't make sense to me.

Oh well you stated in earlier posts that it never took any hits:confused: so this changes the story quite a bit. It will fail at any time under any conditions if it has been weakened by trauma.

No I said that it hadn't taken any hits for about a month or two. It hasn't even seen a dirt road in a month. Thats why its weird. Why did it fail at the time it?

IMHO the "way bad blows" that you siad it took while "going pretty fast" probably dealt the death warrant to that front end-it was just a matter of time for the failure to hit. You were right to say earlier that it is a good thing it didnt happen at freeway speeds. I am glad you lost that front end when ya did-because you are still here to talk to:)

both ball joints on my 96 tacoma went out at about 250,000 miles. probably mostly due to warn out suspension which put too much pressure on everything else.. or maybe just driving habits.

The recall on the lower bj's were described as "scratched" if I remember correctly on my warrenty card. Had the lower bj's and I think there was something about a gas filler tube vent as well.

Just wanted to let you all know that I got my truck back tonight. He did a good job at repairing it, all I need now is the fender to be popped out. I can open my door maybe 10inches, enough for me to squeeze through, before it starts to grab/ rub the fender. My poor girl :( I can't wait till the fender gets popped out.
