Ordered a 1" bodylift from Bilstein lifts. I have decided to install the bodylift for tire clearance issues so I'm not concerned too much about options on bodylifts in general.

I saw that a member on this forum only installed the cab spacers and not the bed spacers. Is this bad for anything on the truck? I don't see how it could be other than the slight chance it messes with the flexing of the frame due to higher center of gravity in the front and lower in the rear, however, that shouldn't be a problem because when you load up the bed the center of gravity changes unproportionally as well.

There is a thread floating around with a picture of the cab lifted before the bed spacers were put in. It looks bad. You’ll want the bed lifted too. -Just saying.

Yes I saw that thread. It didn't look terrible to me but I know what you mean. I'll probably end up installing all of them.

Other question is about the steering coupling. That needs to be loosened prior to lifting? What about radiator supports?

What tire clearance issue are you trying to solve? I.e. where does the tire rub?

Correct on the steering coupling. Your kit should include some brackets for the radiator.

You will probably not be able to do a topper without lifting the bed, but otherwise shouldn't be too many ill effects

Right on. Thanks for the info. Do you know if the gas neck needs to be unbolted before lift as well?

Also, yes. There should be a 1 inch plastic spacer for that in your kit as well.

I'm assuming you put one of these kits on your truck?

Yes, on my 2nd gen. Should be identical to your truck...even looks like the same part number / description. If you do end up lifting the bed, make sure you pay attention to the size of the holes in the pucks between the radiator and the rear. The rear has the same sized pucks as the radiator supports, but the holes are different sizes for the bolts that go through them. Ask me how I know :anonymous:

From an effort standpoint, have you considered wheel spacers versus a body lift?

    Haha much appreciated!

I still need to do small wheel spacers to get my tires away from my JBA UCAs. I have 295/70/17 muds on 17x8 with 0 offset. I tried 1.25" wheel spacers and I was going to have to relocate the cab mount. It wouldn't even let me full lock at all.

I rub inside all over the wheel liners under compression while turning. It was between removing wheel liners completely, DB lift, or body lift. I'm choosing the body lift because it's only 1" which shouldn't do much with stressing components.

 wanted to make sure you had looked into less challenging options. Your truck's newer than mine so hopefully rust isn't as much of a problem. Those cab and bet bolts were a bitch and a half. HIGHLY recommend getting a friend to help with it, especially for tightening everything down. Can't be inside the truck and underneath it at the same time.

How much does it cost to do a body lift?

The kit was $190 and I'm doing the install. But my buddy Heineken will be there to assist me so I'm pretty confident.

That's what I was hoping. Might as well get the truck how I want it while it's young and easier to deal with.

Anyways, I don't understand your comment? You're always welcome to come to Hawaii and wheel with us, if you're free.
