    Yes and yes.

If you're able, handle one and see what makes them so nice. I really like that there are so many favorites in this thread that are great knives.

I agree, I have never understood the price tags on some of these knives.

Then one day many years ago I rounded up some of my old knives, took a gift certificate and a coupon to kittery trading post. I traded 6-7 knives knives the GS and coupon and walked out with a Benchmade. The knives I trade Gerber, CRKT a Walmart Spyderco
and the Benchmade quality and warranty made all my other knives seem like and old butter knife!

Then came Randall & CRK wow unbelievable quality and workmanship. These guys get it..

Now i am working on my one off forged collection.

Comparing a design from two manufacturers is always interesting. ZT/KAI have been pretty consistent in quality and work with makers like Rick Hinderer to produce more affordable knives. If you want to try out a better quality knife before making the jump to a maker, ZT is a pretty good way to go.

I can vouch for Kershaw/ZT/KAI, I own a few KAI products from kershaw and ZT. My ZT's are phenomenal knives and my knife-snob friends tend to enjoy them a lot too. I especially enjoy my 0562, it's my daily/working beater and I can't think of another knife I'd own if I could only own one.

The 0562 is a great knife. Comes in CF too.

IIRC they discontinued the model I have in G10, so it's only CF or TI now. I do like the look of the TI units, they're really slick looking, but the CF is definitely moreso.

I have already made the jump to a few different makers. I have had a few Kershaw & ZT blades and sold them off but did just pick up another Blur because I love the feel and action on it... plus i don’t mind beating on a cheap blade.

    It arrived today.
The Benchmade 486 Saibu. Brought out the other mini's I've got. Very satisfied with the 486. It is on the small side but very nice. Hopefully they make a larger one in the future.

Man...where would I start? I have more knives than guns. :) This one is a custom forged number by Ken Hall. Done in the traditional manner fully deferentially tempered, figured rosewood handle and sheath, cast copper forward.

That's not a knife. This is a knife! Kinfolks V44 Bailout Knife. My Grandpa was too old for WW2, had a family, and he didn't have to serve. So he went to the Pacific theater as a USAAF civilian parachute specialist. In this line or work they built and supplied aircrew and cargo parachutes and survival equipment. He brought back this baby which was apparently standard equipment in aircrew bailout kits. He used it for years to clear and maintain his wooded property in Pennsylvania. Nowadays relegated to display, and occasionally to cut wedding cakes.Kinfolks V44.jpg
