I have a pretty good secret spot to camp on BLM land in the low desert but a toasty week has snuck up as my wife and I plan to socially distance ourselves in the wilderness for a day or two.
Looking for any recommendations on places to go that would be cooler in temp and ideally public land. Trying to respect the forest regulations and everyones distance.

If you have a secret spot you can dm me and maybe trade secret spots ;)

Might try to see if the yellow post spots down in idyllwild area or big bear area are open.

Undeveloped BLM land is really all that's technically "open" right now for dispersed camping I think. Most BLM in Socal is out in the desert, but if you head north a bit up the Grapevine I think there's some BLM in the Los Padres forest area

    That "place" is his truck....

Never said that place can't move... :D

But seriously, I do generally agree that staying in place is the better option. But I'm starting to get the itch, and mental health is also important. Done correctly, you are far safer camping out in the boonies than at home even.

Just don't be like those doofuses who are getting all the OHV trails shut down because 'Merica and I'm riding my dirtbike with all my friends anyway. We have a bunch of OHV trail systems (state and fed) that are closing because of this.
