    Why don't you run this by @SearArtist?
    He is the expert in DI

    Why would OVtune risk his credibility doing something that would risk damaging the vehicle? I just don’t see why he would risk that with his background and knowledge.

    @OVTune

    I have been continuously reading through all this convos about carbon buildup etc. And for the most part want to just clarify a few things that I have asked about and I see others have also asked about, regarding other aspects of the tune, but they keep getting covered with more back and forth.

    1. In the full 2.0 will the trailer,sport,regular modes be available using the combinations of s mode and ECT?

    2. Is there going to be any further tuning conditions adjustment for added weight to the vehicle? Ie, bumpers, bedcaps,armor..

    3. I noticed after flashing the link for 04b04 32-33 4.88 that when initially starting the startup time of what would be starter spinning appears to be much shorter then prior tunes. Is this all part of the new changes? No complaints, just curious on understanding.

    Once again from all of us that actually appreciate the work you have done over the last few years, THANKYOU VERY MUCH.

    @OVTune

    I've experienced the exact same start up but only have 45 miles on the tune. Other than that weird start up, it's a great tune so far love the drive.

    I don’t think the carbon build up is as big as issue as some are suggesting. But I’m no expert. DI is all around better for performance and tuning. It just burns dirty. Plenty of vehicles run on DI but most DI’s now use PI to keep the Carbon buildup minimal. We are buying a tune to improve performance and MPG’s. Utilizing DI achieves both of these. If the motor cycles enough to PI and/or the truck runs the cleaning cycle it shouldn’t be an issue. Mat says it still does both.

    Sounds fair. Like some people have said if anyone is worried about it throw a can of sea foam in the tank every 3k miles, it’s like $8

    Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
    Or tune it themselves so it comes on as often as they want. :notsure:

    I guess the question still remains though, how often should it cycle to PI. What’s adequate? Does the “cleaning cycle run when the motor senses a certain amount of build up?

    It sure sounds to me like you should be running the stock tune. All you wanna do is nitpick and complain about things that aren’t a problem.

    what’s the data say on the stock tune? Zero misfires and cleans every 10 minutes?

    It would actually be a good idea to compare the data between the two

    Look, I’m new to this OV Tune thing and am just trying to make my truck a little more fun to drive and maintain reliability. I can’t figure out if many of you are trying to help refine the new 2.0 beta or are just trying to piss people (OV Tune or each other) off. I think @Vlady might have a valid nugget here but his delivery could maybe use a little adjustment, seems a little combative and abrasive. Don’t know if there is some history there I’m not aware of. Regardless, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar or something like that.

    I think the points have been made, can we get back to providing @OVTune actionable feedback and less dickishness? If we aren’t careful we will all have to figure this out ourselves in vF...

    Yep.. data doesn’t do any good if you don’t have a baseline for comparison. You also have to understand the scale, intervals and what that number represents to determine what is “good” and “bad”. Just because a number is higher or lower doesn’t really mean anything without context.

    I’d be more interested in seeing tranny temps between the stock tune and 2.0 over a 2 hour drive towing a heavy trailer.

    Noob question,

    Is the cleaning cycle that loud change in the engine that you hear cycle on about every couple minutes or so while the truck sits idling? Always wondered what that change was. Sort of sounds like a ticking sound but is deff a cycle at idle.

    We are talking about a lack of port injection that keeps the intake valve clean per @SearArtist educational video
    Edit. Lack of either Port or Port+DI injection modes

    Huh, and here I thought you all were talking about a reduction in port injection.
