I saw the futures tanking, so I went to CNBC and Twitter to try to figure it out.

I have next month’s news but I can’t share that with you guys yet..

Thank you, I am a little disappointed in 2 things, first that it took me so long to dip in (I’m 23, I first thought about getting in at 21 but thought that I was too young) and the second being that I didn’t sell very much of anything while it was at profit a 2-3 months ago even though I had told my parents that a dip was coming either this year or next. Oh well.

But now that I’ve started it’s a slow and steady contribution through the highs and lows, mainly interested in dividends.

I’m not exactly known for smart decisions but I’m very cautious when it comes to investing, I’m still learning a lot about it but between family, close friends, news, and threads like these I can keep fairly informed.
Right now I’m in the red 8.75% but my uneducated opinion is that I would expect to be in the red after (during) the dip especially since I didn’t dump a whole lot of money in on the dip.
I completely agree, seeing good returns on minimal money is good, the only thing that I think is better is consistency.

As of now I’m very happy with all but two of my investments, one is F, I’m not 100% sure how they’re going to pull out of this but I think I’ll see a recovery in 18-24 months (hopefully) and the other is BGG, I’m not sure how well they’ll recover from restructuring right as Covid hit combined with the Covid hit, but both combined are less than 7% of my portfolio so they wouldn’t be a major loss.

Anyone really surprised? He's the leader of a 4th world country during a world wide pandemic outbreak. I would be nervous about who replaces him though.

Next months news: economy going further to shit and hopefully a stock sale, my future retirement depends on it!!

You're in the rare position that most 23 year olds are not even considering retirement. The fact that you're even talking about it will set you up for the future. I didn't put a dollar into retirement until I was 23 either. I'm now 30, and my interpretation is that I'm sitting better than my peers with even a modest savings rate.

My vote is start as early as you can (now), educate yourself on your investments, and keep after it. The power of compound growth for you (and even me still) is incredible if you invest properly.

eh. Korea won’t be a big deal. Blocking immigration honestly I was surprised wasn’t already a thing with the fact that I can go more than 10 miles without a governor telling me to quarantine. But that one might actually affect things a bit. That’s a solid workforce for a lot of industries.

tinfoil hat, I don’t buy it. Worlds greatest leader supreme McDouble will make a magical recovery of god like ability. Not only that apparently the South Koreans, our boots on the ground so to speak, are saying that’s shenanigans.

anyway. Might buy into uso as a long hold today. Like 2 years long hold timeframe.

I put in a limit buy at 3. If it goes back up even to 10 I’ll probably cut and run then. I won’t be greedy.

I’m not doing options yet. Still too green.

Yeah, I'm still not confident/knowledgeable enough to do options. I was thinking the same thing. I wanna see where it opens at and then put a limit accordingly.

It's already at $3.06 pre-market this morning, I'm going to wait and watch.

Yea, it was under 3 earlier, too crazy right now for me to look at. Best of luck to everyone that makes a play though

problem is I’m confident enough. I’ve posted before this whole brokerage acccount is “hobby” money that would go into bikes, truck stuff, etc there has negative ROI but is fun. Right now I still think playing and “gambling” is fun even with the losses. ive set personal limits like I’m (a) not gambling with money I can’t afford to lose and (b) five myself a set budget every month that I can pull from the bank. Don’t care how juicy the returns are or would have been. I’m not going one cent over that limit.

The benefit is if I’m good at this hobby I could earn myself a new car :D

I’m sure in a few years I’ll be tired or sick of it all and just set limit orders to cash out if and when it goes in to the green. But until then....

Maybe that’ll be my next venture is some options. As long as it’s all from my hobby money I’m good with giving it a whirl. Will need to do a lot more research though.

it was 305 ish when I put my order in and was down below 3 already pre market. I’ll probably leave it where it is and just buy at the open. Might slide today but like I said my goal is 2 years from now. Not tomorrow.

I'm trying to figure our UCO. It closed at $1.35, but the bid is at $23.70. :notsure:
