    I fully agree. It's certainly splitting hairs and without multiple trucks running before and after tests it's totally theoretical.

    That’ll certainly work. If you follow the charts, they suggest setting things up a bit tighter. But, the way you’re doing it is certainly fine. Definitely less expensive as well.
    You are at the “looser” end of the allowable gap like this. You had mentioned quieting the valves down. In my head I was thinking mid-spec or tighter in the intake and pretty much 50-75% of spec on the hot ones.

    I shouldn’t need to. But, I may just do it for some extra unnecessary work. Why not eh?

    I did have the drivers side header off late last year. Needed to weld on an o2 bung. It wasn’t that bad. I used mostly extensions and flex sockets and it was fairly painless. JBA shorties.

    Well yes this is true, but the thinking here is once plastic gets up to the hottest temperature that it is going to get to within the system it is not capable of shedding that heat anywhere near as quick as the aluminum does, which does get hotter quicker, but it also releases that heat just as quick.
    That's why the high performance folks in the LS world ditch their plastic thermocomposite intake manifolds and switch over to all aluminum units.

    EDIT: Nevermind. This has already been spoken about. I'm here at work and am not able to keep up with the conversation quick enough. Lol.

    This isn to get it on the road again. Same here with cams. When I do mine. I'm doing the complete upper end. Springs, valves, cups, seals, etc. Couple months. Didn't want to grab hundreds in cups that I wouldn't use again. If I am out farther than 3-4 months though, I am going to order the proper cups and get everything as close to the low end of the tolerances as possible.

    Hi all. Hope your all well. As for the few that would remember me I’m after some advice on a part.
    My sc belt is slipping and I think I need to change the tensioner.
    Any advice on which one to get?
    Just replace with a standard or get a better after market one?

    Check this post out from pg 1. Lots of guys in here are running the Roush unit with success. I am myself, but it took a little spacing out of the pulley to get the belt to line up nicely. Some folks havent had to do that and only needed to swap the OE tensioner pulley over.
