    I have a 2020 TRD OR with 12.5K miles.

Looking at my paperwork from my 10K service, it appears that a tire rotation wasn't performed (despite request and being listed in the service recommendation). I drive about 2K miles per month. They did list a rotation at the 5K service.

    Should I...

    1) Get the tires rotated ASAP and resume normal schedule
    or
    2) Get the tires rotated ASAP (7.5K since last rotation) and then rotate again at 20K (skipping at the 15K service) resuming normal schedule
    or
    3) Hold off until the 15K service and then just resume the normal schedule
    or
    4) Other

    Thanks!

Rotate them now and then every 5k after.

Just make sure they do it at the next one, 10,000 miles won't harm them unless you've got alignment issues.

I don't think there's reason to be sarcastic about such a basic question. People who are first time vehicle owners, or who are just getting a vehicle they actually give a damn about don't know everything and seek out answers. Plus not everyone knows the ins and outs of tire maintenance and wear. Guarantee you my wife would have the same question the OP asked. At least he cares enough to ask the question.

Rotate them now, just be prepared for them to feel a little odd for the first hundred miles until they wear in. I would wait until another 10,000 miles so they get worn evenly but doing it at 5,000 wouldn't be a bad idea either. Are you sure they didn't do it? I mark all my wheels to make sure rotations are actually done and also to see if they do a good rotation (front to back with a cross) or a lazy one (just front to back on same side. If you had a Subaru or other AWD car I'd be concerned but with part time 4WD it's no big deal.

Next time you’re scheduled to have tires rotated, make a small mark on both rear or front tires. Video tape or photograph this for your records. This way you have proof if tires were rotated or not.

I often wonder how much of what is paid for isn't actually done. Most people would have zero idea.

I purposefully scuff a tire with my shoe every time I take it in when there is a rotation due.

This is why I do not let a dealer touch my vehicle. I do all the work myself, regardless of "freeness" of the oil changes, etc. I know it is done and done right. Caught dealers charging for oil changes that still had the dye in it from my checking up on them, not inspecting the brakes when they say they do it, not rotating tires, screwing stuff up and trying to get me to pay for it (they didn't torque the front wheel lug nuts, causing tire to come off on a trail and sheered three studs in the process).

Thanks for the extremely helpful response! Sorry to waste your time with such a simple question.

I had the last one for 11 years so a little early to trade this one in.

There is no mention in the user's manual with regard to this, only the recommended rotation intervals which I believe was missed by the dealer hence the question.

as long as your alignment is good you'll be ok waiting.

if it bugs you, just do it yourself. I do it myself because I've seen it not be done by the dealer when asked to do it. Many will not do what you won't notice.

Question is fine. We have an 'ignore' feature here that you can use so you don't have to put up with things like this. The guy you are responding to is on mine.

    My rule of thumb(s)

5k is good, may be over kill. However, it's what I did on my street class SCCA ride. But it's easy when you have the wheels off a lot anyway.

7.5k is what Costco uses to keep your wear warranty valid. If you buy tires there they do it for free.

10k is what I do on my urban vehicles, which both my Tacoma and RAV are. Coordinates with oil change schedule.

If you have someone else rotate, and can't see them do it, mark the inner sidewall of both rear or front tires with regular old chalk. That way you can look and know if it was completed. If you want them cross rotated, mark them R & L and they should wind up on opposite sides/corners.

I'd just wait and then go to a different dealership next time and chalk the tires

theres a service interval manual that comes with every Toyota vehicle in the glove compartment, and for the severely helpless they have a thing called a Owners website https://www.toyota.com/owners/parts-service/maintenance-schedule, its up to you to make sure that all scheduled service was properly done to your vehicle, if it wasn't its on you. if you felt that your tires weren't properly rotated why don't you just contact the service department where you had service about it.Pretty simple really

I'd go to Discount Tire, and watch them do it. Free rotate and balance for life if you buy tires from them or make your tires "theirs". They have a program for that. Been using them for more than 30 years.
